Day 2 at YMCA Lurgan!

We chatted Needs vs Wants, budgeting for living independently, the T&Cs of bank accounts and how not all borrowing is created equal!

Excellent work from this group, good luck with all your money goals over the rest of the summer!

Excellent work from the St. Louise’s Comprehensive College group at our Understanding Work and Money day.

Our volunteers shared their work journeys from part time work as teenagers, through self employment, to their current roles at L&G. They also answered questions about salary, payslips, deductions, pensions, costs and benefits of work, and gave tips and tricks for CVs and interviews.

Huge thanks to the Innovation Factory, Belfast for hosting the sessions!

Excellent work everyone!

What a busy time we had at our Understanding Money and Work day!

The girls from St. Dominic's Grammar School Belfast worked hard and put our volunteers to the test with lots of questions about the costs and benefits of work, investing in workplace pensions, identify transferable skills to include in a CV, and prepping for interviews.

Huge thanks to our volunteers and to the Innovation Factory, Belfast for hosting!

📣Competition alert!

Calling all of our primary school - Money Ready UK has a competition on the go for primary schools, you have until 20th June to submit your entry!

🎨 Money Ready’s new colouring competition for primary schools: win a £25 voucher! 🎨

88% of teachers we work with reported that pupils retain their financial knowledge from previous years through our Change The Game programme.

We deliver financial education that sticks. The secret? Making financial education fun, engaging, and playful.

As part of our Cost of Not Knowing campaign for children and schools, we’re bringing the spirit of Change The Game to life with a brand new colouring competition!

We’re inviting primary school pupils to design their own neighbourhood. Use our budgeting template to create and colour your own community - choose your own buildings and features, but make sure you stick to your budget!

How to enter:

1️⃣ Download the worksheet:https://moneyready.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/CONK-colouring-comp-worksheet.pdf
2️⃣ Complete your design and take a photo or scan it
3️⃣ Upload your worksheet by 5pm on 20th June using our online form: https://tally.so/r/VLbaGj

We’ll pick 2 winners to each win a £25 voucher. Competition is open to all primary school children across the UK.

Good luck! 👩‍🎨
