As Pride Month 2026 begins, we want to celebrate the brilliant LGBTQ+ talent working across film, TV, and cinema.

Pride is a chance to recognise progress, visibility, and joy - and the vital contribution LGBTQ+ people continue to make to our industry.

At the same time, it’s important to acknowledge that many still face real challenges - especially our trans colleagues and friends.

That’s why solidarity, allyship, and support matter more than ever.

We stand with everyone navigating these challenges, and remain committed to championing a more inclusive, supportive industry where people can fully be themselves.

Throughout Pride Month, we’ll be sharing events, initiatives, and communities making a difference.

Got something we should spotlight? Drop us a comment or DM - we’d love to help amplify your voice!

Take action on mental health in film, TV, and cinema.

The Looking Glass Survey is the mental health survey for the screen industries - created for the workforce and powered by the workforce.

Because thousands of behind‑the‑scenes workers take part each year, it’s become the UK’s only long‑term, trusted study of mental health in film, TV, and cinema - recognised by media, industry bodies, and policy makers.

And it’s already driving real change:
Expanded mental health support through our Support Line
A confidential Bullying Advice Service and Wellbeing at Work support
The Whole Picture Toolkit, used on 500+ productions
The Principles for Mentally Healthy Productions, with new digital tools launching this year
Evidence shaping research, commissioning, policy, and best practice

This is what happens when workers own the data - and the narrative.

Your experience turns into evidence.
Evidence turns into action.

Across Northern Ireland - from Belfast and Derry~Londonderry to smaller towns and rural locations – behind the scenes workers play a vital role, but their experiences of working life often differ from those in London and the South.

That’s why we're inviting people working behind the scenes in Northern Ireland, and across the UK, to take part in its 2026 Looking Glass mental health survey.

Your insight shows what’s really happening - from hybrid working to life in smaller, regional teams - and helps shape support and policy based on real experience, not assumptions.

It takes 10 minutes, is completely anonymous, and is the UK screen sector’s only long term mental health study.

Insight - especially from underrepresented voices in Northern Ireland - drives change.

We’re proud to introduce an industry‑first role at the Film and TV Charity as Dr Anthony Newton joins us as our new Anti-Racism Wellbeing Adviser.

The role has been created to better support Black and Global Majority professionals working behind the scenes - particularly those experiencing racism, racialised bullying or harassment. Anthony joins our Support Services team, bringing over 17 years’ experience across the NHS, private practice and occupational mental health, alongside a deep commitment to anti‑racist and intersectional practice.

Details on how to get in touch with Anthony will be shared soon. In the meantime, find out more about his role and how it will support the industry on our website.
