Happy International Women's Day!
NYJC continues to be committed to redressing the gender imbalance by addressing and removing barriers to female students and professionals:

Creative Leadership Ensemble - Founded in 2013, the initiative is not only to support, mentor, champion, and celebrate the year’s 12 advanced female musicians, but to also provide more female role models and mentors for young musicians

'Girls Play Jazz' programme - NYJC is running taster workshops in girls schools across the nation, providing a supportive enviroment to encourage girls to take up jazz.

New standards - Works by female composers are used across NYJC's programmes and are shared across the sector. We ensure all NYJC artistic programmes are gender-balanced.

The Vocal Jazz Camp is a 3-day residential course led by Pete Churchill for singers aged 14-18 who want to get right inside the music! Through singing in an ensemble on the course, participants will collectively work on essential skills needed for solo and ensemble singing.
