We started out as a small group of individuals living on or near the lower Regents Canal. We met through a training called “Leading A Waterway Cleanup,” offered by Thames21, the waterway charity. Afterwards, we were eager to work together and carry out the spirit of this training in our area. We began organizing volunteer cleanup events open to all interested residents. Since then, interest has gr

own and we now lead events regularly. Places such as the Regents Canal, the Limehouse Cut, Limehouse Basin and other waterways here are special places that we don't want to take for granted. The communities that surround these waterways are vibrant and diverse, and there is a lot of history attached to these areas - all good reasons to treasure what we have. We want to help keep our local waterways able to be appreciated and enjoyed by all.

We won another award! 🏆🎉

We were awarded with winner of the “Outstanding contribution by a Community Champion delivering Environmental projects” category at the first-ever G15 Community Impact Awards.

The work we do with our volunteers is so important to our local environment and it’s always so wonderful to be recognised for it.

We won an award!

Lower Regents Coalition have won an award at the Social Value Leadership Group Awards. The Social Value Group look to recognise and award companies that deliver Social Value. Mainly contractors who work in the housing sector who spend money on improving communities. There was a category for Best Social Value Ally, and we won!

Our work over the last 2 months has halted due to the loss of our tools and equipment after a break-in at our lock up. We are currently raising money to replace everything so we can get back to our important work in the new year. The link to our Just Giving is in the link in our bio. Last week we planted over 800 bulbs along the canal, we can’t wait to see them bloom next spring. We also managed to clear some litter from the paths too. Thankyou to our wonderful volunteers who turned up on a grey and cloudy day to literally get their hands dirty!
