Clearer rules can help you deliver public fundraising with greater consistency, confidence and accountability.

Following the publication of the new Code of Fundraising Practice and consultation with members, we’ve updated the public fundraising rule books for street, private site and door-to-door fundraising.

The revised rule books align the CIOF Public Fundraising programme with the updated Code, while introducing additional safeguards developed with charities and fundraising agencies.

The updates provide greater clarity around:
• Transparency around subcontractors
• Operational governance and accountability
• Responsible use of fundraising sites

Public fundraising remains an important way for charities to engage supporters. Clear, consistent standards help fundraisers deliver it professionally and responsibly, while supporting public confidence in fundraising.

Psychological safety can make a real difference to how teams work, lead and perform.

As fundraising teams head into one of the busiest periods of the year, creating an environment where people feel able to speak up, challenge ideas and share difficult feedback matters.

In the latest episode of Let’s Talk Fundraising, host Tim Beynon is joined by co-host Katie Docherty, Chief Executive of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising, and Graham Allcott, author of KIND: The Quiet Power of Kindness at Work, to explore what kind leadership can look like in practice.

What would make a professional network for Global Majority* fundraisers genuinely valuable to you?

We’re supporting a small working group to explore the development of a new, digital-first network for fundraisers from Global Majority backgrounds working in the UK not-for-profit sector.
Designed by fundraisers, for fundraisers, the network aims to create a supportive space to connect, share experiences, develop careers and strengthen equity across the fundraising profession.

But we want to hear from the people it is intended to support.

A short 5–7 minute survey asks what topics, activities, support and opportunities you would value most, from peer connection and mentoring to career development, leadership and tackling racism

Seven fundraisers will have the opportunity to attend this year’s Wales/Cymru Fundraising Conference with a bursary place. Applications are closing soon, don't miss out on your chance to apply.

Four places are available through the Caryl Angharad Lee-Jones Learning Bursary, created in memory of our much-loved friend and colleague Caryl.

Caryl was a brilliant marketer and creative thinker who cared deeply about Wales, the Welsh language and her community. Through her work with the Chartered Institute of Fundraising and Remember A Charity, she helped charities tell their stories, reach new audiences and inspire support. The bursary in her name continues that commitment by helping more fundraisers access learning and professional development.

A further three bursary places are being offered by our volunteer-led CIOF Cymru Fundraising Committee, helping to reduce barriers to taking part and invest in the development of the fundraising community in Wales.

Wales/Cymru Fundraising Conference 2026 is happening 18 November 2026 at the Leonardo Hotel Cardiff.

Over 1,000 fundraisers shared their views. Thank you!

We're incredibly grateful to everyone who took part in our recent fundraising talent survey. The response was fantastic, with more than 1,000 contributions from across the fundraising community.

The survey is now closed, and the prize draw has been completed using a verifiably random selection process from all eligible entries. Three winners have been selected and contacted privately.

Each winner nominated a charity to receive a £250 donation from the Chartered Institute of Fundraising, and we're delighted to be supporting:

We’re at the Insight in Fundraising Conference, bringing together fundraisers, data and insight specialists, digital teams and sector leaders to explore how better insight can help you navigate the challenges facing fundraising today.

Across the day, you’ll hear practical ideas for making more of your data, using AI and technology with purpose, understanding supporters more deeply and turning evidence into decisions that strengthen your fundraising.
