UKIM is one of the oldest nationwide Islamic organizations in the UK.

Formed in December 1962, UK Islamic Mission (UKIM) is an organisation that serves humanity, nationally and internationally. Over the years, UK Islamic Mission, in order to contribute in building a good society, gradually developed its core services for the community that includes establishing a network of mosques and Islamic schools; engaging in interfaith activities, and producing literature in E

nglish. UKIM has also put efforts to develop relief and welfare programmes in the UK and overseas that are aimed at helping people and alleviating their suffering. In addition to its own charity work, UKIM raises funds to support the work of mainstream charities. UK Islamic Mission has enhanced its engagement with people of other faiths through organising inter-faith events. Therefore, fellow non-Muslims are encouraged to visit our centres to discuss Islam over tea/coffee or dinner in order to promote and encourage mutual appreciation and friendly relations between Muslims and non-Muslims. The key beneficiaries of this wide ranging work are primarily the members of the Muslim community (men, women and children), local schools, hospitals, prisons, local authorities, charities, and the general public. Through its work, UK Islamic Mission aspires to see all citizens, irrespective of their colour, background, ethnicity, economic class and political affiliation, to live in dignity and peace with each other. This is because Islam aims to break the shackles that disunite human beings and restores dignity for all people. This was the mission of all the messengers of God and this is the mission that UKIM is delivering to the best of its ability and resources.

الْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ

"A person will be with whom he loves." (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2640)

These words brought immense joy to the companions and should bring both hope and contemplation to us. On the Day of Judgment, we will be resurrected and gathered with those we genuinely loved and admired in this life. Let this motivate us to fill our hearts with love for Allah, His Messenger (ﷺ), and the righteous, and to choose our company wisely.

فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِنَ الصَّالِحَاتِ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَلَا كُفْرَانَ لِسَعْيِهِ وَإِنَّا لَهُ كَاتِبُونَ

"Whoever does righteous deeds while being a believer—his effort will never be denied, and We are recording it for him." (Surah Al-Anbiyā, 21:94)

This is a profound and comforting promise from Allah. As long as a good deed is rooted in faith (Iman), it is never wasted or overlooked. Every single effort, big or small, is meticulously recorded and will be rewarded. This should encourage us to do good consistently, knowing our striving is always seen and valued.
