Thanks to all who attended last night’s AGM.

We had a fabulous talk from Christine Kings of Tree Musketeers about, not only the extraordinary work that this volunteer led organisation do; planting, growing and caring for trees in Hackney, but also wildlife across Hackney (from insects to birds to mammals). Fascinating!!!!!!

Whilst we will be posting a short piece detailing Christine’s talk in more detail, in a couple of weeks, for those of you who may want to find out more right now, the link to the Tree Musketeers’ website is in the comments.

CPNAG’s Chair, Ian Rathbone, also made his annual report of activities over the last year regarding Clapton Pond and the surrounding neighbourhood. Similarly, we will shortly post a brief summary of Ian’s report on here.

An update on activities at the Pond, on Thursday.

You may have noticed an area just outside the corner of the Pond, nearest to Newick Road, cordoned off yesterday. This is an update from Met Engage (link in the comments, in case you want your own updates) with one of their Met Neighbourhood Updates, as follows:

"Shortly after 9am yesterday morning, Police and the London Ambulance Service were called to Lea Bridge Road/Upper Clapton Road, E5 to reports of a male with a stab wound to the chest.
Shortly after this, a further report was received of a second male self-presenting at a local hospital who had also suffered a stab wound.
It is believed that they were injured during an incident at Clapton Pond, E5.

Both injured parties are adult males known to each other with no known links to gangs and have recieved medical treatment.
At this stage, this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no link to other recent incidents and no other person (s) are involved apart from the injured males.

A crime scene was in place at Clapton Pond, Upper Clapton and Lower Clapton Roads, and has now closed. The investigation is ongoing.
If anyone has information regarding this incident, please contact 101 and quote CAD 2204/28MAY26"
