An extreme weather alert is currently in place and it will be very hot in the coming days, with temperatures over 30 degrees Celsius (°C) for several days.

Heat, especially at the sort of temperatures forecast, can seriously affect people’s health, particularly older adults or those with pre-existing health conditions. Let's stay cool and look out for each other.

Connect More is back — Connect More 2.0 is a new series of hands-on smartphone sessions for those ready to go beyond the basics. With separate courses for iPhone and Android users, you’ll learn practical skills like staying safe online, using everyday apps, and keeping in touch. Choose the sessions that suit you, there is no need to attend them all. Spaces are limited, so click the link to register now.

We will have five sessions on five Mondays:
Session 1: Core Phone Basics & Accessibility - “Make your smartphone work the way that suits you best — adjusting how it looks, sounds and feels so it fits comfortably into your everyday life."

Session 2: Safety, Privacy & Scam Awareness - "Learn how to protect yourself, your phone and yor personal information from the most common threats facing smartphone users today."

Session 3: Photos, Media & Practical Life Tools - "Learn how to capture, organise and share your memories, and use your smartphone to stay on top of your day — from appointments to payments."

Session 4: Internet and Everyday Apps - "Discover how your smartphone
can help you search, shop, navigate, bank and access healthcare — safely and confidently, from wherever you are."

Session 5: Communications & Staying Connected - "Explore the many ways your smartphone can help you stay close to the people you love — through messages, video calls, social media and more."

Mariana Cano Marquez works as a Community Mental Health Consultant at Multicultural Richmond and also supports the Wellbeing Lunch sessions.

We will be running Sensory Compass, a 7-session creative wellbeing programme for neurodivergent adults starting from 23/04/2026.

The programme will be monthly where we will be exploring sensory experiences, regulation strategies, and self-advocacy through creativity and group dialogue.
