Here at LASCAT we are blessed with so many amazing CFAV who Volunteer so much time to create amazing experiences in the Outdoors for your cadets.

So on Volunteer week I want to say a HUGE ThankYou to them for everything you do.

We have an exciting opportunity to join forces with our friends at the VCC Royal Navy cadets for a Silver DofE expedition.

Dates are:

Practice: 3-5 July
Assessment 25-27th July

Both start and end at Collingwood, Portsmouth

If Cadets wish to attend please ask your unit to contact either A*O DofE - SLt K Finnis or A*O AT CPO C Luther.

And thats a Wrap for our London Area Caving and Hillwalking weekend.

I hope the Cadets had a wonderful time. They were well behaved and their units should be proud of what they have achieved this weekend as so they should be of themselves!! BZ All 🥳🥳

This year had a few hiccups due to unforeseen circumstances and we all send our apologies however quick thinking by staff it wasnt long until things were back on track.

A massive Thank You as always to our supporters The Ulysses Trust for funding such an amazing experience. Gocave.com - Caving, mining and potholing in the UK for always being big supporters of our weekend and we look forward to seeing you next year 🥰 A Big Thanks to Peak Cavern for accommodating us at short notice and for our lovely tour guides for parting all your knowledge.

And of course this weekend would never happen without the amazing CFAV who have given up countless hours before the weekend and at the weekend to create such a fantastic experience for our young people.

A*O Dofe London Area and the team are also busy in the Surrey hills running a DofE expedition. Nice to see the sun is shining everywhere!!

Happy Sunday all!! The Cavers had a great day yesterday and are all up and well into day two.

Some of the cadets this morning are getting in some campcraft knowledge before their Cave visit. I am sure you will agree what a perfect background for learning such a skill.
