🌟 A spotlight on Our Recycle & Stitch Studio

At our Recycle & Stitch Studio, we’re all about creativity, community, and sustainability. Whether you’re new to sewing or a confident maker looking to expand your skills, our workshops offer a welcoming space to upcycle, mend, and make something truly unique.

🧵 Upcycle, Mend & Make — Free Community Sewing Workshops
Join our Tuesday Sewing Surgery and get 1-to-1 support from our friendly tutors. Bring along a garment in need of repair or alteration and learn practical sewing skills to give your clothing a second life.

🪡 Patched Home Workshops
Our Thursday morning 5-week course introduces the essentials of patchwork techniques. You’ll learn a variety of methods that can be used to create beautiful and useful items such as cushions, wash bags, and purses. It’s the perfect course for beginners or anyone wanting to explore creative ways to use fabric scraps and reduce waste.

👗 Garment Making Course
For those ready to take the next step, our Thursday afternoon garment making course is ideal. Open to learners who’ve completed our Patched Home course (and are familiar with our studio equipment), this course explores cutting, draping, and garment construction. You’ll have the opportunity to work with one of our many contemporary patterns or adapt your own to create a bespoke piece of clothing.

📅 Booking Information
Places are limited, and booking is essential for all classes.

From rural lanes to Victorian homes, through war and post-war change, our N19 community has seen it all.

What started as a 1940s moral mission at Caxton House Settlement has grown into today’s Caxton House Community Centre. An inclusive hub led by local people, supporting residents and community life.
