The Middle Passage Remembered is now open.

As we mark Black History Month, this exhibition explores ancestry, memory, identity and the journey of our African ancestors through the Middle Passage to the Caribbean.

Through mixed-media artwork and augmented reality, we invite you to engage with these stories, reflect on the past and consider their continuing connection to who we are today.

We’re pleased to share that The Middle Passage Remembered is currently on exhibition at Elitha Gallery in Wimbledon.

🎨 ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: NEFATERI Art by Nefateri

Meet Nefateri Asantewa, a London-based, self-taught artist whose work explores ancestry, identity, memory and representation, with a particular focus on African and Caribbean histories and experiences.

Creating from an instinctive and intuitive place, Nefateri uses her work to remember, question and reconnect with histories and stories that may have been overlooked or silenced.

Upcoming Exhibition: Rhythms of Kolonga – DRC 🇨🇩 Beyond the Headlines
Opening Night: 6 June 2025 | location

Rhythms of Kolonga is a curated visual arts exhibition that seeks to reframe dominant narratives about the Democratic Republic of Congo. Bringing together contemporary artists The exhibition foregrounds Congolese cultural expression as a site of memory, resistance, and radical imagination.

Rather than centring conflict and crisis, often the focus of Western media portrayals, the exhibition invites audiences to engage with Congo through its visual languages: rhythm, texture, intimacy, and ancestral resonance.
