Some of the piles of rubbish we left yesterday have been cleared. Leaving more questions than answers. Why did they leave the jumper/ carpet from one pile but took the dead crow from the front of the Haseltine sign. And who added the coke can and tissue there? Another two of the piles are still as we left them.

Two weeks ago I highlighted the waste people throw onto the no mow meadows near Haseltine and the fact that the council have no procedure to remove it, let alone tackle the 'tossers' who think this is an acceptable way to behave in public.

As expected, the piles of litter have not been removed.

We have cleaned the meadows again today and added more to the piles.

Lewisham Greens and Lewisham Council need to come up with a plan, because the only people cleaning here for the past 3 and a half years are our family.

There are no bins on this stretch, the street cleaning is poor and nobody picks up waste if it is on a green space.

The strike continues.

In case anyone forgot what they looked like or arrived late, I think this image sums up the essence of the gas holders. Crosses, circles and rectangles. Nobody saw the pulleys at the bottom of the frames that the new artwork is supposed to resemble. It would be nice to have a small section resurrected. Just one rectangular section with the ring suspended in the middle.

There is a 'consultation' event about the proposed new artwork made of bits of the gas holders tonight (Tue 11 Aug), 4pm - 7pm at the Lightmakers marketing suite. Not 100% sure how much consulting will be done, as it looks like they have already decided on one design. Hopefully we don't end up with something like the 'cherry blossom' sculptures in the second image.

Why are off-site drinkers also so rubbish at using a bin? You have to prepare for this... think ahead, buy the wine, find somewhere to drink it... and then you couldn't work out how to carry the empties to the bin? Just a lazy attitude? Or maybe because you don't actually have to live here, so you just don't care?
