Reduced Circumstances

Reduced Circumstances A theatre company who celebrate the creative potential of their financial limitations whilst maintaining high standards of performance

Reduced Circumstances was set up to create a forum for talented, hard-working and like-minded artists to collaborate, explore and play, with a view to developing and showcasing the resulting new ideas. RC have produced the world premieres of two new plays at the Edinburgh Festival: Torn Out Pages by Jackie Kane at the Gilded Balloon and Call Me If You Feel Too Happy by Nicola Albon and Sophie Pelh

am at Sweet Venues. The latter received a London transfer at the Old Red Lion, and then toured the UK before doing some International tour dates. This included several charity performances to raise funds and awareness for Bipolar Disorder (the condition the play explored). RC are strong believers in using Theatre in Education and as such regularly compliment their performance work with an education programme. As well as full scale theatre productions, charity performances and education workshops, RC are strong advocates of nurturing and promoting new artistic talent and as such have presented two new-writing festivals and twelve actors’ showcases. In London, they have produced work at the Soho, Jermyn Street, Leicester Square, Old Red Lion, Landor and Etcetera theatres. Their showcase work alone has provided a platform for over two hundred actors, twelve new writers, twelve up-and-coming directors and three very busy designers!
