As we recognize this September, we're thinking of the NICU families supported by Ronald McDonald House programs around the world ❤️

Families like baby Grayson's.

Grayson was born early at 33 weeks and needed immediate surgery and specialized care. For nearly a month while Grayson was in the NICU, his parents, Paige and Jordan, stayed just steps away at Ronald McDonald House Louisville

"Being at Ronald McDonald House allowed us to be with Grayson in the NICU as much as possible," Paige says. "It was the biggest blessing to us on our journey."

Jeremy, Jessica, and their three children stayed at Ronald McDonald House Atlanta for over 60 nights while their son participated in a feeding therapy program nearby.

When families can stay close, they can focus on what matters most: caring for and supporting one another throughout their child’s medical journey.

When you're navigating your child's medical journey, everyday activities like getting a haircut can fall to the bottom of the priority list.

At Ronald McDonald House Tampa Bay, Inc., Olivia and her team helped families get back-to-school ready with fresh haircuts. We're grateful to community members like Olivia who give back in meaningful ways, helping families feel supported and experience moments of normalcy during challenging times.

Once a Ronald McDonald House Family, always a Ronald McDonald House Family. ❤️

While Harlow and Hadley were in the NICU, the Rardon family found comfort and support at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mid-Missouri. Now, the twins have made it a tradition to give back by volunteering at the House each year, even spending part of their birthday this year packing lunches and preparing a meal for families staying at the House.

Thank you, Harlow and Hadley!

Today, we'd love to shine a spotlight on the wonderful Hargun!

Hargun's mum and dad have been staying at our Camberwell House while he receives care on the Rays of Sunshine Ward at King's College Hospital.

Since undergoing a liver transplant in March, Hargun has spent a lot of time in and out of hospital. Throughout his journey, we've been proud to help keep his family close by.

Recently, Hargun decided to brighten everyone's day by opening his very own 'hospital bar', serving special mojitos to the ward staff as a thank you for their care and support. Hargun and his mum say the Rays of Sunshine team have become like family to them, and staff described it as the best ward round ever! ✨

It's been a pleasure getting to know Hargun and his family. His positivity, kindness and resilience are an inspiration to everyone around him.

And we've heard he's already working on his next creation, a Cherry Blossom mocktail, we can't wait to see what he comes up with next. ❤️

We’d like to say a huge 'thank you' to the fantastic volunteers who spent time with us at our Camberwell House this week! 💙

Marie from McDonald's Orpington and her team rolled up their sleeves and joined our housekeeping team to help keep the House looking clean, tidy and welcoming for the families who call it home during their child's hospital stay.

Every room cleaned, every task completed and every hour volunteered helps us create a warm and comfortable environment for families when they need it most. We are incredibly grateful for their time, energy and support.

Not only that, some members of the team have been doing some incredible fundraising for Ronald McDonald House UK, including taking part in a skydive! They proudly brought along a giant cheque during their visit, and we're so grateful for all the effort, enthusiasm and support they've shown for our families. 🌟

Thank you, Marie and team, for helping make such a meaningful difference.

💌 If you'd like to find out more about volunteering at the House, please get in touch at [email protected].

What a lovely weekend we've had here at our Camberwell House! 💛

From jewellery making and painting to games and plenty of laughter, it was wonderful to see our families getting creative and having fun together.

Seeing these big smiles and special moments is what it's all about.

If you'd like to join us for any of our summer activities at the House between 10am and 5pm, don't forget about our Day Pass service. It's a great opportunity for families with a child on a paediatric ward at King's College Hospital to use our facilities, take a break from the ward, and get involved in the activities taking place that day.

If you have any questions or would like to find out more, please get in touch. We're always happy to help!

Summer days call for a sweet treat! 🍦

When a child is receiving medical care, moments like sharing an ice cream, enjoying a summer activity, or simply spending time together can mean so much.

At Ronald McDonald House, families can hold onto these moments, all while staying close to the care their child needs.

Today we'd love to share another wonderful room sponsorship here at Camberwell House!

It was so lovely to welcome Faith and Sam back to the House recently to celebrate the sponsorship of the room they stayed in during 2024. 💙

Since their stay, they have raised an incredible amount in memory of their beautiful daughter, Orla. Alongside their friends and family, they have taken on skydives, birthday fundraisers, nursery fundraising days, and even the Brighton and Manchester Marathons.

We are continually inspired by their strength, love and positivity, and are incredibly grateful for their ongoing support. It was wonderful to spend time with them again and thank them in person for everything they have done for our charity.

We wish Faith, Sam and their family all the very best for the future.

“It is not just the House that provided us with a sense of home – it was the people,” says Shawna.

When the Roy family’s daughter, Carly, was in the NICU, her family stayed at Ronald McDonald House South Central Ontario, surrounded by a community of support while their daughter was receiving medical treatment.

For families like the Roys, Ronald McDonald House becomes more than a place to stay. It's a place of comfort and connection and a reminder that they’re not alone.

What an absolute pleasure it was to recently welcome one of our former families back to our Camberwell House.

Chloe and Sam, along with their lovely family, stayed with us from October 2023 until January 2025, following the birth of their twins, Arnie and Luca, and while Luca received care in the NICU at King's College Hospital.

Following some incredible fundraising by the twins’ wonderful Auntie Shelley, including the London Marathon, events with her local art group and school raffles, the family now has a sponsored plaque proudly displayed on the door of the room where they stayed. It shares an inspiring message from Luca to the families who stay with us: "You are brave and you are strong!"

It was so lovely to see them all again, hear how well they are doing, spend time together in our garden enjoying the sunshine, and reflect on their time at the House.

We are so grateful for their amazing fundraising efforts and continued support, and we wish them all the very best for the future. 💙

Today is International Friendship Day! 💛

To celebrate, we’re sharing some of the thoughtful messages left on our Kindness Tree by the friends and families who attended our Summer Party in June.

A few simple words can make a big impact, and these notes reflect the kindness, strength and support we see from our families every day.

We’re so grateful for the friendships formed within our House and wish you all a very happy International Friendship Day

A big 'thank you' to Kirk & Louis for their thoughtful donation of fresh fruit for the families staying in our House! 🍎🍌

Kirk & Louis stayed at Camberwell House for 106 days while their son received treatment at King’s College Hospital, so they understand first-hand how important the support of the House can be for families during difficult times.

The fruit has been placed in our kitchen for everyone to enjoy and has been a welcome treat for our families. Gestures like this help create a warm, supportive environment and make a real difference to those staying with us.

We are feeling incredibly grateful here at our Camberwell House after receiving a wonderful donation from a family who stayed with us earlier this year while their daughter was being cared for at King's College Hospital.

They kindly donated an amazing range of supplies for both the House and the families who stay here, including colouring kits and books for children, toiletries, cleaning products, and so much more. They truly thought of everything!

Thoughtful donations like these make a real difference, helping us create a welcoming and comfortable environment for families during what can be an incredibly difficult time. From practical essentials to activities that bring a little distraction and joy, every item will be put to good use.❤️
