A young researcher, Muhammad-Jamiu Ogirima Umar, has expressed heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi for what he described as a life-changing intervention in his professional and academic journey.
According to Umar, he first came across Dr. Abdullahi through social media and followed his efforts in human-capital development, scholarships, empowerment and skills acquisition across Kogi Central.
Having never met Dr. Abdullahi or anyone close to him, Umar said he submitted his CV without expecting much. Today, that same opportunity has culminated in his appointment as Research Officer I at the Energy Commission of Nigeria, alongside an opportunity to further his research and pursue a PhD in the UK.
He said the experience has changed his perception about opportunities being based solely on connections, stressing that his application was considered on merit.
Umar also praised Dr. Abdullahi’s humility, vision and passion for renewable-energy research and called on the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Dr. Ahmed Tijani Anaje, and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to support and commend his efforts.
He concluded with a message to fellow youths: “Hard work pays.” He urged young people to remain focused, develop themselves and prepare to contribute meaningfully to the development of Kogi Central, Kogi State and Nigeria.
