Drinking Arsenic: The Price Peruvian Communities Are Paying for the Energy Transition
This week, four leading Peruvian activists came to London to raise awareness about the devastating impacts of copper and zinc mining on downstream communities. They highlighted the operations of two major and expanding mines – Antamina in Ancash and Quellaveco in Moquegua – both associated with UK-linked companies. These mines are implicated in cases of arsenic and other heavy metal poisoning.
