Festivities were launched with a bang and (a lot of!) tinsel on Saturday 1 December with our hugely successful Christmas Bazaar. We welcomed over 2000 guests to our school which had undergone a winter wonderland makeover. Guests were treated to a special guest appearance from Santa in his grotto, external stalls selling the gifts for everyone, the popular Apfel Strudel stall, and the WW1 Dining Room. The Christmas Pudding Rodeo made a comeback this year, along with a photobooth and other large inflatables for the children. Our talented singers entertained those in the dining room with Christmas carols whilst others were left to buy Christmas essentials such as Wreaths, Puddings and toys.

The day raised over £20,000 for our four charities; The Girls’ Network, Cancer Research UK, Parkinsons UK and Malaria Consortium. A portion of the money raised also went to our means-tested bursaries.

We would like to thank everyone who attended, donated, advertised and sponsored the event, and of course our willing volunteers on the day. The day wouldn’t have been the huge success it was without you! We look forward to next year’s bazaar.

Who said films have to be screened in a dark, cold, room? Godolphin and Latymer became the newest venue to scrap this notion by introducing Sunset Cinema on Tuesday 5 June. Over 60 guests joined us for an open air screening of the box office hit Darkest Hour on the front lawn as the sun set over the backdrop of the school's historic buildings for this magical evening under the stars. Guests arrived early to reserve their spot amongst the atmospheric war memorabilia which set the scene for this epic tale, including Churchill's own desk setup in front of the screen.

Guests enjoyed the delicious hot dogs from our local favourite Icelandic hot dog company – Chilly Katz. Providing 4 options of delicious hot dog toppings and Gin & Elderflower slushies all evening, we were spoilt for choice.

The film was, as it promised to be, a huge hit. As the evening entered its darkest hour, we withstood the slight chill in the air with everyone huddled together and wrapped in blankets.

A big thank you to all those who came and supported us with this new event, it was lovely to see so many of you there. We look forward to bringing Sunset Cinema back for the next academic year.
