Election Meeting Update - 16 June 26

Thank you to all our members who managed to join todays meeting to discuss the upcoming General Secretary Elections.

It's time for change, time for supporting the very core of the union, its members.

📢 Solidarity with Unite Officers Branch

For the first time in Unite’s history, our full‑time officials — the people who support members every day — are taking industrial action after management attempted to impose a staff association with no mandate.

This goes against the democratic principles our union stands for, and Unite Officers are now standing up for the same standards we expect from every employer.

Picket lines will be in place from Monday 27th April outside most Unite offices.

We encourage members to show solidarity in any way they can, while following workplace rules and guidance.

At this moment in time the situation is fluid and we Don’t have any further information to share at this time.

We appreciate this may be unsettling, however we will be monitoring the situation closely and will update with any necessary information.

HMRC sets scale rate expenses for subsistence paid to employees who travel outside the UK, such as Cabin Crew. We feel the rates are not reflective or the real costs for people whose work takes them abroad, and that the way they are put into blocks of 5/10 or 24 hour blocks is completely unfair.
