The night before Summer Camp… ⚓😂

’Twas the night before camp, and all through the house,
Not a single cadet was sleeping… not even close!
The kit bags were packed (then unpacked once more),
“Have you packed your socks?” echoed round every door.

The hoodie? ✔️
The boots? ✔️
Your PCS? “I think that’s upstairs…”

Parents were counting T-shirts with military precision,
While cadets declared, “I don’t need that!” with absolute conviction.

Some volunteers checked the nominal roll for the fifteenth time,
Others searched for chargers they’d “definitely packed” last time.

Tomorrow we head north to HMS Caledonia,
For a week of adventure, teamwork, laughter and memories.
New friendships will be made, confidence will grow,
And before we know it… it’ll somehow already be time to go home.

Safe travels to everyone joining us tomorrow.
See you bright and early… and yes, we’ll ask one last time…

⚓️⚓️ HMS Mersey Visit ⚓️⚓️

Great to see five units from across the district making the most of the HMS Mersey visit to Liverpool. We had representation from Bebington, Birkenhead, Hoylake and West Kirby, Runcorn, and Sefton units, all enjoying a really positive experience on board. A big thank you to everyone involved in making it happen.

PADDELSPORT SAFETY AND RESCUE SUCCESS

Congratulations to our 8 Adults and Cadets who successfully completed their PSRC Training this weekend.

The Paddlesport Safety and Rescue course (PSRC) is Paddle UK’s foundation level safety training for sheltered water paddlers. In a single day you learn self‑rescue, assisted rescues, simple towing, and how to manage common incidents in kayaks, canoes and SUPs. It’s very hands on and every module is practical, and you spend time in the water practising rescues.

It is a very physically demanding training course.

Thanks to A*O Paddlesport for delivering the training, and Wallasey Sea Cadets for providing the venue.

As this was a Unit collaborative activity, and with 5/8 units involved, it’s a great demonstration of what can happen when the sum of our parts come together!

AREA REGATTA UPDATE

What an incredible weekend for our talented cadets at the Sea Cadets North West Area Paddlesports, Sailing & Windsurfing Competitions in Southport! 🛶⛵

After months of dedication, training (often 2–3 sessions a week!), and real commitment, our cadets delivered an outstanding performance across the board - returning home with a huge medal haul, far too many to mention! 🥇🥈🥉

From paddlesport polo to individual races and sailing events, the teamwork, determination, and skill on display were second to none. You have done yourselves, your units, and our District incredibly proud!

A huge thank you also goes to our amazing volunteers - your time, coaching, and support behind the scenes make achievements like this possible.

👏 Congratulations to all involved from Sefton & Birkenhead Sea Cadets - a fantastic, well-earned success and a weekend to remember!

Your dedication, teamwork, and perseverance have truly paid off, and you’ve made us all incredibly proud for representing the District so diligently.

Your hard work on and off the water is an inspiration to everyone, and this success is a well deserved reflection of your commitment and spirit. We are excited to celebrate this moment with you and look forward to seeing even more great accomplishments in the future.
