πŸ“š New on the Nutrition Science Hub

What happens when essential dietary management begins to impact a young person's relationship with food? And what can communities, researchers and policymakers learn from innovative approaches to tackling food insecurity?

This month on the Hub, we're exploring two important challenges facing nutrition professionals today, from recognising signs of disordered eating in young people with coeliac disease to examining community-led solutions to food insecurity.

Watch both webinars on demand and earn CPD at a time that suits you.

77% of people involved in grassroots sport do not receive advice from a qualified sports nutritionist.

New research from GetPRO Professional highlights a significant gap between the growing recognition of sports nutrition and access to qualified expertise. Cost is a major barrier, with 59% saying budget constraints prevent their club from accessing professional support.

To help close this gap, GetPRO is working with the Nutrition Society to connect early-career sports nutritionists with grassroots clubs and teams through the GetPRO Professional grant programme, helping to make evidence-based sports nutrition advice more accessible.

🧠 What is sarcopenic obesity, and why does it matter for health and clinical practice?

We're proud to be sponsoring a symposium at the BAPEN Conference focused on this increasingly important area of nutrition science. The session will bring together experts to explore the relationship between fat and muscle, emerging diagnostic approaches, and the implications for clinical practice.

Topics include:

πŸ”Ή Understanding the mechanistic cross-talk between fat and muscle
πŸ”Ή Novel tools for the diagnosis of sarcopenic obesity
πŸ”Ή Emerging evidence and future directions for clinical practice

We're looking forward to supporting discussions that connect the latest nutrition science with real-world healthcare challenges.
