At the end of a really busy and productive term (completing the Entertainer, Digital Maker and Scientist badges) Cornwell Pack headed to the Jurassic Encounter Adventure Golf for some fun with the dinosaurs 🦕 🦖⛳️

We also took the opportunity to invest three new members and celebrate two Cubs receiving their Chief Scout’s Silver Award. Welcome and well done to them 😁🎉

Thank you to our Young Leaders who ran the Scientist badge and all of our volunteer team for their efforts this term. ❤️

There were celebrations in the Troop this week. Our team came joint first in the novice category in the County Night Hike last weekend after zooming around the course. Well done team 👏 We were also delighted to see Zachary awarded with his Young Leader belt after completing the YL programme and becoming an asset to the Troop team. Congratulations 🎉

A big thank you to Andy from Beyond Blocks for running another fantastic Lego robotics evening for the Cubs this week. We can’t recommend Andy highly enough. The children were fully engaged for the whole session and really enjoyed completing their Digital Maker badge, showing great problem solving and teamwork skills. Well done Cubs! 😁👏🏻

Cornwell Cubs had a great evening with members of the Ewell based Phoenix Clog this week. The Cubs learned a traditional dance and although they didn’t have the wooden clogs they did have the sticks and bells and accompanying melodeon accordion!!🎵🎶🔔

As well as a lot of fun, the evening ticked off an element of the Entertainer badge too 🎭 😁. Thank you Phoenix Clog and well done Cubs!!

Congratulations, Leia! ⭐️🎉

Year 7 student Leia has been awarded as a joint winner of the Warry Award for Endeavour for the second year running!

Presented within the Royal Kingston Scout District, this award comes in the form of a striking brass trophy of St George on horseback slaying the dragon - a fitting symbol of courage and determination.

Leia said she was ‘very shocked’ to receive it again.

Well done Leia - the Holy Cross community is proud of your hard work, determination and inspiring commitment! 👏

We are delighted that Alison has been awarded the Silver Wolf, the highest award for adults in Scouting, given for exceptional service. As well as holding the roles of Joint Group Lead Volunteer and Akela at 1OM, Alison has also been the Bandmaster of Kingston & Malden Scout & Guide Band for 30 years and was presented with her much deserved award at their annual concert last weekend. Congratulations Alison, from everyone at 1OM.

Christmas has well and truly started in Old Malden! What a wonderful event on Plough Green yesterday and a privilege for Alison and Louise to do the countdown to the switching on of the Christmas tree lights 🎄

Cornwell Pack had a great Christmas treat last week with a visit to Hollywood Bowl. As well as a fun time showing off our ten pin bowling skills, we took the opportunity to invest two new members! Welcome to the Pack 🙂🎳🎄
