Thank you, wonderful community! 🙏

Following a spree of generous parkrunner donations we’ve been able to purchase a set of **walkie talkies** to allow our marshals, RD and finish funnel crew to communicate quickly in the event of an incident.

We don’t have a mayday situation yet, but we are starting to look at this week’s roster and there are gaps. If you are keen to volunteer please let us know.

It’s also pacer week (even numbers from
20-40 mins) and currently all vests are available.

118 parkrunners headed to Bedfont Lakes this morning - a big welcome to first timers Benn, Dolcia and Samantha 🤗

We have some great photos from Steve - can you spot yourself?! 🤳🏼📸

Run director Rebecca led the volunteer team - huge thanks to everyone on the roster. Please let us know if you can help in future weeks!

We need a team of volunteers every week for parkrun to go ahead.

This week we are still short of a timekeeper, finish token person and a marshal.

Please let us know if you can help (maybe you’re running the Cabbage Patch race on Sunday and would like to hear “thank you marshal!” on Sat?! ☺️)

Autumn is well and truly with us and the park is beautiful on these October parkrun mornings! 🍂🍃

If your preference is to volunteer for your parkrun fix during this season, or you haven’t got round to trying a new role / your favourite role, we have some great opportunities this weekend and for future events.

We welcomed 112 runners and walkers today to Bedfont Lakes parkrun - thank you all so much for enjoying the sunshine with us.

As our Event Director Jo mentioned at the start, we are fundraising for some walkie talkies which will help us to communicate amongst our volunteers to deliver a safe event for you all every week, if you are in a position to donate, we would be very thankful: https://www.parkrun.org.uk/bedfont/aboutus/

Thanks for joining us today on parkrun’s 22nd anniversary.

We had to take the very difficult decision to cancel mid-event due to a serious accident on the course. The parkrunner affected was treated by paramedics and we wish her all the best once she’s out of hospital.

We appreciate you may be disappointed, but there is always next time to get your parkrun fix. We absolutely prioritise health, safety and wellbeing every time we put the hi-viz on.

Thanks to everyone who helped and co-operated - we have an amazing community 💙
