Orchestrated Acts of Kindness - OAKS

Orchestrated Acts of Kindness - OAKS Our aim is to orchestrate any act of kindness no matter how big or small purely with the intention of making people happy.

Orchestrated Acts of Kindness is an open-armed group who hope to grow into a self-sufficient movement spreading kindness everywhere we go. We want to orchestrate new and exciting acts of kindness and hope to collaborate with as many individuals, groups and charities as we can. Providing a platform for people to join the kindness revolution. Oaks done so far include a visit to an old age pensioners

bingo club, a food bank collection, community arts project, community gardening, planting trees with underprivileged children, visit to a refugee camp with many more planed for the future. Constitution

All our acts will bring joy, not only to the person/people on the receiving end but the people involved in performing the act of kindness. We will perform all acts of kindness with the thoughts and feelings of others at the forefront of our mind and wish no harm or distress on anyone. We have no criteria for who can benefit from our acts of kindness. We don’t discriminate on ANY grounds and hope to spread kindness throughout London and the globe. We will welcome anyone who wishes to join the kindness revolution and get involved in Orchestrating Acts of Kindness. All our acts of kindness are completely free and will be served with handfuls of smiles. Please get in contact with us if you have any ideas you want to share or want to know more about getting involved by either sending us a Facebook message or an e-mail at [email protected]

We are currently crowd funding for our next event, Art for Autism. Art for Autism will be an exhibition, showcasing art by people on the autistic spectrum in order to raise awareness and give budding artists the opportunity to make connections and express themselves through their work. We'll be working hard to reach as many groups and individuals as we can, who would not usually feel they can, or have the opportunity to create a piece of art. Our aim is for those who are part of our project to feel empowered by their participation and to strengthen community bonds.

We believe giving people the opportunity to express themselves through art fosters independence, self-esteem and artistic expression. We hope to raise awareness of the importance of the arts as viable tools for learning, growth and expression; especially for autistic artists and to celebrate their valuable contributions to society.

All donations will go towards making sure the event has the greatest impact on as many people as possible. If you are not in a position to donate then keep an eye out for the launch of the event coming soon and/or get in contact with us if you or someone you know would like to exhibit a piece of art.

We are really excited about this OAKS :-)

Today we took a packet of sticky notes and wrote some positive quotes and some lovely kind messages on and left them on seats and tables on the train. Watching some of the people smile while they read them was priceless. The whole carriage is a whole lot happier now.

Today we’re going to a local park with some food for the ducks, we were recommended to feed them oats and corn as opposed to bread because it’s much healthier for them. Here is beautiful video that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHy6bBKu0j4

A mother duck looks on while twelve of her adorable ducklings attempt to overcome what is to them a very large obstacle, the stairs. Will they make it? Watch...

Today we are taking the opportunity to thank someone who usually gets taken for granted. We chose our local shopkeepers who work extremely long hours but serve you with a smile and are always playing amazing music to brighten up your day.

Today a few of us got up really early and stood outside Brixton underground station to spread some kindness to all the early morning commuters. We held up positive messages and gave out compliments and chocolates to hundreds of people. Hopefully the ripple effect of kindness will spread all over London!

We got an e-mail last week from the Hackney Food bank confirming we donated 540 meals at Food for Thought in December. They have been really busy over the winter period and had to move warehouse so its taken them time to get back to us. Thank you again to everyone who came and generously donated food on the night.
