My husband and I (who is from Ghana) often send items to his family who lives in Accra, and they distribute them to the people who need them the most. As we were packing up one of our shipments I decided to ask my friends on facebook if they had any items they wished to donate. Alhamdulillaah the response was more than I could have hoped for and I was given so much stuff. We had to purchase extra
boxes as there was so much stuff and it wouldn't fit in the two we had planned to send. The goods donated filled 4 boxes in total but I then had the problem that we only had the funds to ship 2 of them. Again I turned to facebook (after making dua, of course) and asked my friends if they would be able to donate towards the cost of shipping the boxes. By the next morning we had the money to cover the other two boxes maashaAllaah. Many sisters encouraged me to continue to collect for Ghana, and so 'Give for Ghana' was started. My husband has family in different areas in Ghana and so inshaaAllaah the donated items will reach village after village. Our muslim brothers and sisters will benefit greatly from these items. Many of the villages where the items go to, have many orphans. We will also be sending Qurans and other authentic islamic books, to aid the people in seeking knowledge of islaam inshaAllaah, upon the correct understanding. All of this is only possible, firstly by the permission of Allaah subhanahu wa ta'aala, but then by your generosity. I know times are hard for many people and giving charity can be difficult, so all we ask is for you to donate just £1 a month! If everyone was to give just £1 a month it would soon add up, and this money could be used to regularly get these much needed items to the people in Ghana. If you feel that giving £1 a month is something that you could do, then please message me for details. I ask Allaah to reward you all greatly and allow these deeds to weigh heavy on your scale of good deeds, aameen. Aamilah (and her side kick husband, Yusif) :)
