In our most recent keynote, Emad Kiyaei told us how, when he was unable to contact his family in Iran for 18 days after the war broke out, he drew on advice his father gave him to manage in times of despair: Go outside and find a flower.
His advice is a reminder that, no matter what, spring will come and things will blossom. No matter how powerful the people shaping global events may appear, they cannot stop the change that will eventually come.
The wide-ranging conversation with Emad, Sharon Dolev, and Ambassador Lina Arafat from the Middle East Treaty Organization centred on what it takes to keep working towards a shared purpose.
We explored trust across difference, staying in relationship through disagreement, exhaustion, and despair; the role of love; and the things that allow us to continue when the odds are stacked against us.

Thanks again to Emad, Sharon, and Lina for bringing such openness, vulnerability, and humanity to a very important conversation.
