⚠️Immigration detention is not safe for anyone, but + people are at even higher risk of harm from LGBTQI-phobic abuse and bullying.⁠

Despite this government's claims that detention helps them remove people from the UK, most people who are detained are released back into the community. This means their detention further traumatised them and served no purpose - except to put more money into the pockets of private contractors who are paid millions of pounds every year to run detention centres.⁠

🏳️‍🌈 We welcome interest from all photographers and particularly encourage interest from LGBTQI+ people and those with lived experience of migration or displacement, whose perspectives may help inform the project. Selection will be made on merit, experience and suitability for the brief.
