BelEve UK is a Social Enterprise that is passionate about Young Girls and Women. We Educate, Motivate and Empower in everything we do!

Our mission at BelEve UK is to encourage young girls and women to find their voice, embrace their individuality. BelEve UK is a girls’ charity based in South London, supporting girls and young women aged 8–22. We work across key life transitions from starting secondary school to entering work, providing practical programmes and mentoring that build readiness, confidence, leadership, and access to opportunity. Through structured group work and mentoring, we help girls develop the emotional, social, and decision-making skills needed to navigate education, relationships, and future pathways. Founded in 2013 by three sisters, BelEve UK supports thousands of girls each year, ensuring opportunity is not left to chance or postcode.

Opportunity isn’t enough. Readiness matters.

Girls can have access to opportunities, but without the right tools, support, confidence and networks, there’s a gap between having the opportunity and being ready to thrive in it.

That’s the “readiness gap” - and we’re launching our new Readiness Framework to help close it.

Built from more than a decade of work with girls and young women, the framework focuses on five areas:

✨ Emotional readiness 📚 Learning & independence 🗣️ Communication & self-advocacy 🤝 Social & relational readiness 🌱 Identity, agency & future readiness

Since 2012, BelEve has supported 30,000+ girls and young women, delivered 18,000+ sessions and provided 1,320 girls with mentoring and guidance.

Because empowerment isn’t just about feeling confident. It’s about having the practical skills and support to navigate, advocate, decide, recover and thrive.

Throwback to our inspiration workshop at in Shoreditch✨

Over 30 BelEve girls were welcomed into one of the world’s leading creative studios, hearing directly from Untold Co-Founder Rochelle Palmer and BelEve Co-Founder Marsha Powell as they shared their own journeys, followed by a hands-on, interactive creative session with the team.

Rochelle moved to London at 20 with nothing figured out. Just self-belief and the willingness to work for it. Now she’s a co-founder of a global creative studio.
The takeaway that stuck: belief is the starting point. What you do with it is the rest.

BelEve was founded by sisters Marsha, Chyloe and Rochelle Powell, who turned the loss of their mother into a mission: building the kind of sisterhood every girl deserves.

Since 2012, that mission has supported over 20,000 young women aged 8-22 across the UK.

Founded in 2012, on one belief: sisterhood changes outcomes.

Meet Marsha Powell, Co-Founder and CEO of BelEve.

After losing her mother, Delores Diana Hay, to a rare cancer in 2011, Marsha turned her grief into purpose. Drawing on her background in HR and wellbeing, she began building BelEve from her dining table, with her sisters, Chyloe and Rochelle, beside her.

Today, Marsha leads BelEve’s mission to empower girls and young women to become confident, purposeful leaders, while developing the team that supports them. In 2026, she joined the American Express Leadership Academy, further strengthening her leadership and vision for BelEve’s future.

Fourteen years later, the charity created in Delores’ memory has reached more than 30,000 girls and young women.

This is more than a charity. It is a legacy built through love, loss, sisterhood and purpose.

The seventh instalment of the BelEve In Her Skills Series focuses on managing your finances and building confidence in making informed financial decisions.

In this workshop, participants will explore the foundations of financial wellbeing, including budgeting, saving, and understanding spending habits.

They will learn practical strategies for managing money effectively, setting financial goals, and developing healthy financial habits that support both their personal and professional futures.

The session also highlights the importance of financial independence, understanding credit and banking basics, and building confidence in conversations around money and financial planning.
