What an evening! 🍏

Thank you to Dr Jaime García Iglesias and Dr Moisés Fernández‑Cano for a thoughtful discussion at our Scotland Summer Session “Learning from the past: Q***r sexuality, health and resilience in challenging times".

This was a fantastic event in which we explored the social and historical perspectives on the relationship between q***r communities and infectious diseases, and had an open conversation about sexuality and health. Thank you to everyone who joined us, for your fantastic questions and perspectives, and to our organisers and volunteers.

See you soon, Scotland!

🌊 𝗢𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘂𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲, your path to a research career in Galicia
We're delighted to share more about one of the sponsors of our 13th International Symposium in Oxford 💚

Are you an ERC grantee thinking about relocating your project? Preparing your first 𝗘𝗥𝗖 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻? Or applying for an 𝗠𝗦𝗖𝗔 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽? The Oportunius Programme, launched by the Xunta de Galicia in 2014, supports researchers looking to develop their careers in Galicia, with a special focus on Spanish and Galician researchers considering a return.

Since its creation, the programme has supported 45 ERC researchers and 57 ERC projects in Galician institutions 🔬

Here's what they offer:

✅ Complementary funding and favourable working conditions for ERC grantees transferring their project to a Galician host institution
✅ Financial support, training, proposal review, and interview preparation for ERC finalists
✅ Support for prospective ERC candidates applying with a Galician host institution
✅ Support for MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship candidates, nurturing careers with the potential to compete for ERC funding

If you're of Galician origin or a descendant of Galician emigrants, the Galicia Retorna Strategy also offers additional support, from housing to schooling for your children.
