Artistry Youth Dance is a London based youth dance company for young people of African and Caribbean heritage. We’re passionate about empowering young people through creative dance development. As a Company, we’re leading the way in creating opportunities for young black dancers. Our world class programme offers high quality training and unforgettable dance opportunities with industry leaders and

professionals. We believe dance is a platform to help young people grow their self-confidence and find and shine their light. Our inspiring community is a safe space for young dancers to explore and develop their talent through a diversity of dance styles, with a focus on Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet, and Dance forms of the African Diaspora. We are committed to developing the next generation of black dance artists and nurturing a more culturally diverse dance community in the UK.

"AYD has been a massive factor in my dance career so far. The environment and extremely supportive nature of the company always encourages me to do my best. Since attending my first AYD100 in 2023 my confidence has grown and I put that down to sharing my passion for dance with teachers and dancers that look like me.
Kamara has always been a supportive teacher, in and out of the studio. One example is when Kamara helped me choreograph a piece for the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust () fundraiser in 2023.

Nafisah Baba⁠
⁠
Since winning BBC Young Dancer in 2017, Nafisah (Tring Park School for the Performing Arts & West London School of Dance alumni), has worked with several companies & renowned choreographers, performing through the UK and internationally, whilst also continuing to dive into the freelance, TV & Film world.⁠
⁠
Nafisah currently balances performing and teaching. After finishing shows with Alexander Whitley Dance Company a tSadler’s East earlier this year, she continues teaching in various vocational settings (The Place CAT programme, London Vocational Ballet School, Ballet Futures with English National Ballet & Tring Park School for the performing Arts). In September Nafisah will start teaching at The Brit School. Nafisah also teaches Contemporary at London Vocational Ballet School, at The Place’s CAT programme as a Creative Teacher and as an English National Ballet ‘Ballet Futures’ Facilitator. Nafisah is super excited to work with AYD!⁠

"It’s a really exciting one-year course that launches this September, supporting dancers across a range of styles (including Contemporary, Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Commercial, and Tap), while preparing them for auditions, further training, and careers in dance and the Arts.

It feels like a natural continuation of my work creating meaningful pathways for young dancers, and I’m really looking forward to this next chapter".
