We're delighted to announce that the Cambridge Town and Gown 10k is sponsored by Actiph Water!

Actiph Water is alkaline ionised water - a smooth, refreshing drink packed full of electrolytes to replace the minerals you sweat out during exercise.

You'll have the chance to grab a bottle as you cross the finish line in Cambridge in October, but if you can't wait until then, check out their website now: https://loom.ly/AI25dE8

For some participants, this is more than just a 10k 🧡

Chris was our race starter in Cambridge in 2025. He started running shortly after his wife Donna, who lived with Charcot-Marie Tooth (CMT) disease, passed away in 2008.

"When I started, I entered various running events for a range of charities associated with Donna."

One of those charities was Muscular Dystrophy UK - who organise the Town and Gown 10k series.

"I saw the difference the charity made to Donna and other people she knew living with a muscle wasting condition – helping them to live life to the full, and I hope that by supporting the charity and this event, I can help others to receive the same support.

"I live in Cambridge so there was no question that I would take part in the 10k for Muscular Dystrophy UK, and I’ve done it for the last few years.

"It was a huge privilege to be asked to be the official race starter for this iconic event, and I’m honoured to be involved in this way.

"There’s always an amazing sense of community on the day and the feeling as you cross the finish line is unbelievable."

Whatever your reason is for running, by taking part you'll be part of something bigger - helping to change the future of muscle wasting conditions 💪

Is the heat stopping you from getting out for a run? ☀️

In case you've somehow not noticed, a lot of us are feeling the heat across the UK this week - and that doesn't make for ideal running weather 🥵

So why not give yourself something to motivate you to get your running shoes back on once the heatwave's ended?

Our Cambridge 10k is on Sunday 4 October, and still has spaces remaining.

(Hopefully it'll be a bit cooler in October than it is now 🤞)

Looking after your muscles, before and after the race 💪

We're excited to announce that Injury Active Clinic are coming on board as an official event partner for the Bidwells Cambridge 10k!

They've provided fantastic pre- and post- event sports massages and injury advice for a number of years at the event - and we're delighted they'll be continuing to do so for future events, including at this year's race on Sunday 4 October.
