🎉 We’d like to wish a very Happy International Women’s Day to all the incredible women working across the renewable energy sector and beyond!
Here are some of the fantastic women from REA and Renewable Energy Assurance Ltd 👇

This year’s International Women’s Day theme, ‘Give to Gain’, reflected in the giving hands, emphasises the power of support. Giving is not a sacrifice, it’s something that creates more! The theme also highlights how giving goes far beyond fundraising… It’s also about giving respect, giving knowledge, giving opportunities, giving mentorship, and much more.

Thank you to all the brilliant women across our organisations and the wider sector who are helping to drive positive change every day 🌍

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for our London Climate Action Week event, held in partnership with the International Sustainable Forestry Coalition!

A powerful theme that emerged throughout the conversation was ‘Mutirão’ - collective effort in tackling tricky challenges. This is a great reminder that a greener, more sustainable future depends on collaboration and shared purpose.

We’re especially grateful to our brilliant panellists, who offered valuable insights into the intersection of forestry and decarbonisation.

And finally, a big thank you to KPMG for so hosting us!

Currently reminiscing about the British Renewable Energy Awards last Thursday… 💭

It was a privilege to celebrate those powering the future of renewable energy, the finalists were exceptional and truly inspiring to see!

We were also grateful to be joined by Energy Minister Michael Shanks who spoke with REA Chief Executive, Trevor Hutchings (FIEMA, FEI, DipIoD, CertIoD).

A huge congratulations to all the winners, ‘Highly Commended’ and shortlisted nominees. Your work is shaping the future of the sector, and we were so proud to recognise your achievements!

Thank you to everyone who helped make the night so special!

‼️ Last call for ICAW 2025 photos!

Today is the final day to submit photos for this year’s ICAW photo contest. Help us showcase the power of organics by sharing your best compost photos…  📸

Megan, the REA’s Circular Bioresources Analyst, has been getting her hands dirty this spring, planting loads of flowers and edible plants using peat-free compost from her local North London garden shop. In just a matter of weeks, those humble flower pots have sprung to life with tomato, cucumber, nasturtium, calendula, sweet pea, and strawberry shoots!

Megan shared, “In busy London, I’m so grateful for my little back garden where I can reconnect with nature a little bit each day. The compost from my community garden centre keeps my little green oasis growing and it’s amazing to know that the garden (and food) waste I send for recycling will eventually make its way—as compost—back to someone else’s garden or field. Composting really is at the centre of sustainable communities - it’s a humble material that has a huge role to play in our food systems and the circular economy.”

To enter the photo contest: Email your photo, location, photographer’s name, and a short caption to [email protected] by midnight today. Or simply post your entry directly in the replies to this post!
