‘The Colour of Our Dreams (All-Ages Gathering)’ - Lizzie Cox and Rev Adam Slate

"My house is me and I am it. It is where I like to be and it looks like all my dreams." - Mr Plumbean, The Big Orange Splot. With the help of Mr Plumbean and Lizzie Cox, a Unitarian and UU religious educator, we will explore the wisdom and work of making our spaces embody our spirits, welcome us in, and look like all our dreams.

Attend on-site or on Zoom. Visit https://www.new-unity.org for more information, directions to the Meeting House, and for the Zoom link (there is a short registration process).

Summer half-term. No Kids Club this week; all ages will be together in the chapel.

New Unity is a radically inclusive community dedicated to love and justice. It's people who have the power, and the responsibility, to make a better world.

Join Roly Keating, former Chief Executive of the British Library and Controller of BBC Two and Four, on 25th June for an evening talk.

In the run-up to the 250th anniversary of the American Declaration of Independence, this event offers a chance to bring our early Minister Richard Price’s distinctive voice and ideas back to life, and to reflect on their relevance to contemporary and still-urgent debates about freedom, rights and society, including in America itself.

Roly has lived since 2023 in the house on Newington Green which was home to Richard Price himself from 1758 to 1787.

Book now:

Join Sir Roly Keating for this talk on philosopher, mathematician, scientist, non-conformist preacher and political radical Richard Price.

Reminder of this Saturday's "Serving with Grace" workshop (16th May, 10.30am, NGMH)

Based on the book by Rev Erik Wikstrom, this workshop will explore what he describes as 'lay leadership as a spiritual practice.'

We will look at his transformative vision of volunteering with a congregation as a growth opportunity rather than an obligation, examining how committee work and volunteer service can nurture personal development through self-awareness, compassion, and collaboration.

Participants will discover practical strategies for reframing lay leadership—from board service to event planning.

Feel free to join for lunch afterwords for informal discussion; either bring something or pick up something.

‘The Joy that Never Left: How to Stay Positive in Challenging Times’ - Stephan Hein & Rev Adam Slate

In today’s often chaotic world, hands-on practices from different healing traditions — speaking to body, mind and soul — offer us an invitation to reconnect with the inspiration, joy and resilience that flow from the inner depth of human resourcefulness and strength. Holistic Health Practitioner Stephan Hein introduces his therapeutic method of creative consciousness to access transformational self-healing, creative self-mastery, and the healing of community.

Attend on-site or on Zoom. Visit https://www.new-unity.org for more information, directions to the Meeting House, and for the Zoom link (there is a short registration process).

Children will join in the sanctuary and leave for their programme after the first hymn.

‘Cultivating Friendships’ - Rev Adam Slate

Research has shown that friendships make us healthier and happier, give us a sense of belonging, support us through major life events, and help reduce stress and loneliness. Yet for all these benefits, making friends can prove to be surprisingly difficult, and we tend to maintain fewer friendships as we age. This Sunday, we’ll explore how we can build better friend relationships.

Attend on-site or on Zoom. Visit https://www.new-unity.org for more information, directions to the Meeting House, and for the Zoom link (there is a short registration process).

Children will join in the sanctuary and leave for their programme after the first hymn.

‘At What Risk?’ (Anniversary Service) – Rev Adam Slate

Three-hundred and fifty-nine years ago, our New Unity forbears began worshipping in secret, and even when they started to worship openly, their theology was not considered legal for about a century. Later they took the risk of identifying as Unitarian. What risks do we take today to be part of an active faith community in a culture where faith is embraced less and often treated with suspicion? At this service we will also have a short ceremony to celebrate new members.

Attend on-site or on Zoom. Visit the link in our bio for more information, directions to the Meeting House, and for the Zoom link (there is a short registration process).

Children will join in the sanctuary and leave for their programme after the first hymn.

New event! Revolutionary Movements panel - 24th May, 1pm

Join us to explore what revolutionary movements have in common as three panelists from New Unity and the UK Unitarians discuss their experiences in Central America, Africa, and Europe. A Q&A will follow.

Helen Yuill, a New Unity member, has lived in Nicaragua and worked for the Nicaragua Solidarity Campaign Action Group. Rev Jim Corrigall, former London district minister and retired journalist, was born and raised in South Africa, where he was active in campaigns against apartheid until coming to the UK in 1974. Peter Turner, a New Unity congregant, was in France in 1968 and saw firsthand the widespread protests, strikes, and civil unrest that shook that country.
