What a night!
Last week, 175 young professionals came together for our Young JWA Summer Party, filling the room with energy, purpose and a shared commitment to building a future free from domestic abuse and sexual violence.
The atmosphere was incredible. It was inspiring to see so many people showing that they believe ending violence against women and girls is not someone else's responsibility – it's all of ours.
As our CEO, Sam Clifford, said:
"I'm so pleased to see both women and men here tonight, both on the committee and in the room. Because violence against women and girls is not a women's issue. It's a societal issue. It's a community issue. And tackling it is a community responsibility. It requires all of us.
When men stand alongside women as allies, when we challenge harmful attitudes, when we call out controlling behaviour, when we create communities built on respect and equality, everybody benefits. A community that is safer for women and girls is a community that is safer for all of us.
Thank you for being with us tonight and thank you for choosing to be part of the generation that doesn't just recognise the problem, but helps us build the solution. Because if, in five years' time, we're reaching twice as many young women before abuse escalates, I hope it will be because of the people in this room."
