OPEN LETTER

(Rebecca Blamo Mental Health Awareness & Well-being C.I.C)

We would like to sincerely apologise for Rebecca Blamo Mental Health Awareness & Well-being C.I.C’s recent absence from social media platforms and public engagements.

Due to an intense period of academic commitments alongside a high client workload, I have had to step back from full public engagement and visible activities. This season has required deep focus, care, and balance to ensure that both my studies and the clients I support continue to receive the attention they deserve as I qualify as a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor.

Rebecca Blamo Mental Health Awareness & Well-being will return to full capacity after July, continuing its mission of raising awareness, educating and also offering counselling support to underprivileged and low-income individuals at a low cost.

In the meantime, please be assured that work is still taking place behind the scenes. This includes maintaining minimum service operations, planning upcoming projects, redesigning the website to make it more user-friendly, fully functional, and easily accessible for everyone who engages with our services, as well as applying for grants and funding to expand our impact.

We truly appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support during this period. We look forward to reconnecting more fully very soon and to continuing the work of shaping the narrative around mental health within our community.

Warm regards,
Team Rebecca Blamo

2025 In Review❤️

While activity may have appeared quiet at times, 2025 has been a busy and productive year for Rebecca Blamo Mental Health Awareness and Well-being C.I.C.

Key activities have included organising a fundraiser, delivering a five-day mental health street campaign in Liberia, distributing approximately 4,000 leaflets, setting up a helpline for non-clinical information, publishing a journal/planner, and facilitating a workshop in Bedford, among many networking engagements. These initiatives reflect ongoing development, delivery, and meaningful work taking place behind the scenes.

We extend our sincere thanks to all individuals and partners who have supported our work throughout the year. Planning for 2026 is already underway, taking into consideration the MOH of Liberia recommendations, with future activities currently in development.

Christmas Message from The Rebecca Blamo Team
🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

As the year draws to a close, we want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and belief in the work we do. This year has been one of learning, resilience, and reflection.

Our work was unfortunately interrupted in Liberia following guidance from the Ministry of Health, which advised that a clinician was required in Liberia despite our work being strictly non-clinical and focused on mental health education and awareness. While this was disappointing, it has given me time to reflect and strengthened our resolve and clarity about the importance of this work.

We remain hopeful and committed to addressing this matter again in 2026, so that vital mental health awareness can continue to reach those who need it.

Christmas offers us a moment to pause, reflect, and reconnect with compassion—both for others and for ourselves. I hope this season brings you peace, rest, and renewed strength, and that you feel valued and supported wherever you are.

Thank you for standing with us. Please remember to be gentle with yourself over the festive period—your wellbeing matters.

Wishing you a peaceful Christmas and a New Year filled with hope, purpose, and new possibilities.

With warmest wishes,
Rebecca Blamo Mental Health Awareness and Well-being C.I.C

Life Scripts: When you identify your life scripts, you will identify your problems (issues).

Some of my life scripts are “I don't need anyone, I can fix it on my own” and “all I need is to push through and be strong”. Another one was “ no one is coming to help me, it's me against the world”.

A Life Script is:
• A story we tell ourselves about who we are.
• A pattern of thinking, feeling, and behaving that repeats across life.
• Formed early (before age 7), reinforced through adolescence, and enacted in adulthood—often automatically.

It’s like an internal blueprint that influences:
• The types of relationships we choose
• How we respond to stress
• How successful or deserving we feel
• How we approach love, work, conflict, and goals.

OMG!😱❤️Yesterday, RBMHAW held her very first Black Trauma Workshop in the UK — and what an inspiring experience it was! The session created a safe and empowering space for honest conversations about racial trauma, identity, and healing. Participants engaged deeply, sharing personal insights and learning practical tools for fostering understanding and resilience.

One of the most encouraging outcomes is hearing how participants plan to take what they’ve learned back into their workplaces — creating more inclusive, trauma-informed environments and continuing the conversation on wellbeing and racial awareness. We had representation from the Bedford Police, local mental health organisations and the ICB Bedford team.

This workshop was not just about reflection, but about action. Together, we are planting seeds of healing, awareness, and systemic change.
