πŸ”΄ On 24th June 2026, two deadly earthquakes struck Venezuela.

More than 4,400 people have lost their lives, while over 16,700 have been injured – figures that are expected to rise.

Despite the immense challenges, Islamic Relief is on the ground with Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) charities, providing food and hygiene packs.

So far, we've reached over 2,200 people, but as the scale of need continues to grow, we need your support.

By donating generously today, you could become a lifeline for the most vulnerable.

πŸ”΄ Since 5 July 2026, heavy rainfall has caused widespread flooding and landslides across Bangladesh.

At least 51 people have lost their lives, and thousands more have been stranded. Inna li-llahi wa Inna ilayhi Raaji’un. πŸ’”

The floods have had a devastating impact on families already living in vulnerable conditions.

Crops have been destroyed, livelihoods disrupted, and many households have lost their essential belongings, leaving communities in urgent need of humanitarian assistance. 🀲🏽

Islamic Relief Bangladesh is closely monitoring the situation and preparing to provide food assistance, hygiene kits, cash grants, and other vital support.

πŸ”΄ Last month, two deadly earthquakes struck Venezuela – the second of which became the strongest tremor to hit the country in a century.

It is estimated more than 60,000 structures across the country's north have been damaged, while 3,500 people have been confirmed dead so far. Inna li-llahi wa Inna ilayhi Raaji'un.

Despite the challenges, Islamic Relief is on the ground with local partners and Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) charities – reaching over 2,200 people with vital aid so far. 🀲🏽

Working through local partners, we've delivered hundreds of packages and hundreds more hygiene kits across locations where displaced families are sheltering, including the capital, Caracas, and the hardest-hit state, La Guaira .πŸ“¦

Alongside immediate relief activities, we're continuing to assess humanitarian needs across northern Venezuela with a view to scaling up our response.

🌎 While climate change impacts us all, not everyone suffers equally.

Those who are the least wealthy are the most affected, despite contributing the least to the problem.

Approximately 3.6 billion people live in low-income countries that are vulnerable to climate change. β›ˆοΈ

WE have a duty to raise our voices and support the most vulnerable.

That's why at Islamic Relief, we're helping communities through the climate crisis globally.

Whether it's building flood-resistant homes in Bangladesh or providing farmers in Iraq with climate-resilient crops to improve their livelihood. πŸ’™

Last night, we hosted our special film screening of β€˜There Will Come Soft Rains' for Muslim Climate Action Week. 🌎🎬

The short film, co-written by Elham Ehsas, depicted the reality of climate change – haunted by rising sea levels, a daughter digs up her father's grave to move his body to higher ground. ✨

Followed by a panel discussion, we explored how climate anxiety can be turned into collective action and hope.

Drawing on Islamic values of stewardship, justice and collective responsibility, the event touched on storytelling, community and how shared purpose can inspire hope and action. πŸ’™

Special thank you to our panellists: Elham Ehsas, Matt Sowerby, Shazia Arshad, and Zunaira Malik for sharing their insights. πŸ’

πŸ’™ Bradford Literature Festival is a celebration of writing, ideas and culture.

We're proud to support the festival for another year, with a fascinating panel on state collapse, where we spoke about Sudan.

It's great to see such vital issues given space at a major festival. ✨

✨ Moments from last night’s panel with Climate Outreach, on "Frontlines of Justice: Climate, Displacement, and Global Solidarity" - a conversation exploring how Muslim communities can lead meaningful climate action rooted in faith, justice, and solidarity - with Amnesty International UK, Praxis, for Migrants and Refugees and Somalis for Sustainability.

Thank you to our wonderful panellists and guests for coming together with us for 🌿

πŸ•ŠοΈ "During Muslim Climate Action Week, volunteers in the West Midlands are putting their beliefs into action, cleaning up a historic canal." 🌍

β€œPositive change starts at the individual and the local level,” says Sheikh. β€œIf people leave today thinking twice about littering, becoming more mindful of their waste, or encouraging friends and family to get involved, then that’s real change.”
