🌿💧 GRAND OPENING OF THE PWA RAIN GARDEN 💧🌿

Following our tree-planting activity yesterday morning, the Sharifa Ibrahim Foundation’s team, children, families and volunteers attended the grand opening of the beautiful new Rain Garden at the Pakistan Welfare Association (PWA) in Slough.

The Rain Garden was officially inaugurated by the Mayor of Slough, Councillor Rifaqat Zarait, as part of the reopening of the PWA Lunchtime Club.

It was wonderful to see a project created by the community, for the community. The Rain Garden provides a greener and more welcoming local space while helping children and families understand the importance of plants, rainwater and caring for our environment. 🌱

The occasion was a fitting conclusion to a morning filled with planting, learning and community spirit. Our children especially enjoyed seeing how their practical involvement in nature can contribute towards a greener and healthier future.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Pakistan Welfare Association for its warm hospitality and for organising this meaningful community initiative. Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing the Rain Garden to life! 🌍💚

🌱🌳 A WONDERFUL MORNING OF TREE PLANTING! 🌳🌱

Yesterday morning, the Sharifa Ibrahim Foundation was delighted to take part in a fantastic community tree-planting activity organised as part of a Pakistan Welfare Association (PWA) project.

From 10am to 12pm, our Foundation group—including Barrister Riaz Gull , Imran Rashid and Kristina Kristina Čulka—together with our children, families and volunteers, enjoyed a wonderful hands-on morning of planting and learning.

It was especially heartwarming to see some of our youngest participants, including children as young as three, four and five years old, getting involved. They learned how to plant trees, water them properly and understand why caring for plants and our natural environment is so important. 🌿💚

We are extremely grateful to those who supported the activity, shared their knowledge and patiently guided the children:

🌱 Georgina Hale – Senior Project Manager, Community Bluescapes & Project Sponge, Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust
🌱 Andy Graham – Senior Project Manager & Wetland Expert, Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust
🌱 Michelle Bewley – Social Value Manager, Cardo Group

Special thanks to the PWA and Cllr Zafar Ullah Khan Satti for organising this excellent community initiative and giving our children, families and volunteers the opportunity to get involved.

It was a morning filled with learning, teamwork and lots of smiles—and a wonderful reminder that introducing children to nature from an early age can inspire a lifelong respect for the environment.

Small hands planting trees today can help create a greener and healthier community for generations to come. 🌍🌱
