Resistance Exhibition

Resistance Exhibition Documenting over 40 years of protest and resistance in the UK, through photos, videos, text and objects. Learn from the past to creat the future!

Cover images with thanks to Denise Laura Baker, David Hoffman and Adrian Arbib. Resistance Exhibition, aims to foster a public archive of a vibrant protest culture in the UK; a documenting of history by the people who made that history. It is an organically evolving archive that aims to span 25 years of movements for social change, from the 1990s road and animal rights protests to squatting and ho

using, from domestic violence and disability rights to LGBTQI and feminism, from anti-war and anti-racism to anti-capitalism and climate justice, and much more…

To seed this we have launched the Resistance! exhibition, with accompanying workshops, creating a rare chance to see printed materials, artwork, photos, videos and disobedient objects from a whole host of protest movements, all under one roof! Bring flyers, posters, leaflets, newsletters, news clippings, video footage, photographs, banners, artwork and disobedient objects, and display them in the open spaces. Scan and upload exhibits in the gallery, record your stories as podcasts, and learn how to archive resources to make them available to all. Create your own online archives of precious protest materials, to inform and inspire a new generation of grassroots activism. Email: [email protected]
