Monday 16th March…
🥰Join us in March as we open up our very own transgender conversation with Trans Man Noah and lets talk about ‘Being Noah’
⚧️As the Supreme Court rules that the s*x equality act refers to ‘assigned gender at birth’, not by our own personal gender identity, it has sparked a BIG conversation amongst WI’s across the country. Now, transgender women are no longer welcome as members of this long established, inclusive group.
Should we still be allowed to welcome trans women as members? It seems not! The bigger debate however, is that trans-men, are, technically, allowed to be members. So while this is being navigated in time for new memberships in April, we thought we would open the floor to a frank and honest conversation with Noah - just one person living his life within the trans community - and a great ambassador!
Technically, Noah can become a member of the Dulwich WI, as he was assigned female at birth. This however, is not how Noah now lives his life. He lives his life as a man.
Get to know Noah, as he tells his story and we listen to his journey from AFAB to the wonderful young man he has grown into, and by his side is his mum, who will also open her heart.
What to bring…
👂Bring a good listening ear and open mind.
❓❓Bring a kind question or two as Noah has agreed to go to a Q+A post conversation.
⁉️Please note the committee may over ride some questions if they feel they are offensive or inappropriate
