Are you stepping into the overwhelming and sometimes scary world of major donor fundraising?

Join us on Tuesday next week for a foundational two-hour masterclass on working with people of affluence and influence.

Major donor fundraising is one of the most significant drivers of global philanthropic growth in 2026. The generous support of wealthy individuals is what makes many of our most impactful and ambitious projects possible - but engaging their help requires a strategic approach.

You’ll leave the session with:

• An understanding of what drives major donors: Their motivations, expectations, and decision-making processes.
• The knowhow to overcome common challenges, including donor reluctance, internal misalignment, and sustaining donor interest.
• An overview of the five steps of the donor cycle: Identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors for long-term engagement.

This session takes place on Tuesday 17 March at 09.00 PDT | 12.00 EDT | 16.00 GMT | 17.00 CET | 18.00 CAT.

Last week, we hosted the first summit of the 2026 Resource Alliance Leadership Programme.

We were joined by Amitabh Behar, Executive Director of Oxfam International, for a deep exploration of the shifting global context in which the social impact sector now operates - within which, he tells us, billionaires are accumulating wealth in new and dangerous ways that threaten the very fabric of our democracies.

Drawing on the recent Oxfam report, Resisting the Rule of the Rich, Amitabh exposed how extreme wealth concentration is no longer just an economic issue, but is increasingly shaping political power and media narratives.

For the next year, 105 leaders from 43 countries will work together to address challenges, like this one, that are facing our sector, from shrinking civic space and democratic erosion, to the changing landscape of philanthropy and development funding.

Global perspectives root the programme in lived realities across different contexts and will set the tone for the work ahead as we ask questions like:

• What must civil society stop defending?
• What must we rebuild or reimagine?
• And what does leadership require of us in this moment of systemic change?

The 2026 cohort will spend the coming year learning from one another, challenging each other, and exploring how we can respond to this moment - individually and as a collective.

We’re excited to see where this year’s journey takes us.

“For me, the Leadership Programme is a spark of possibilities.”

, Global Capital Campaign Director with Greenpeace International, speaks to a growing awareness within the social impact sector of the need for us to collaborate across regions and causes to face - together - what she calls “existential threats”.

At the start of each year, the Resource Alliance Leadership Programme brings together 100+ leaders from all over the world, representing a wide range of causes, contexts, and lived experience. Over 12 months, this cohort collaborates on some of the most pressing challenges facing our sector while supporting one another to navigate uncertainty, complexity, and change.

Applications for the 2026 programme close this Friday 13 February!

You can apply now by emailing James Tennet via [email protected] to share a few lines about your work and background, or follow the link in our bio to learn more about the programme.
