💪 What does financial awareness mean for women’s empowerment?

For women, having the knowledge, confidence and resources to manage their finances can be a powerful step towards greater independence and decision-making.

This , hear from a savings group chairwoman in Sierra Leone about why financial literacy is crucial for women's empowerment.

Through savings groups, women can come together to save, access loans, develop financial skills and support one another – creating opportunities to start businesses, meet their needs and shape their futures. 💥

👧 A lack of menstrual products should never put a girl's future at risk.

In Uganda, our partner COFCAWE is helping tackle period poverty through its SafePads initiative. By training girls living in rural communities to make reusable sanitary pads, it provides a sustainable solution that enables them to manage their periods with confidence and dignity.

For many girls, access to these products means fewer missed school days, improved menstrual health, and fewer barriers to achieving an education. It also reduces the pressures and vulnerabilities that can arise when girls lack the resources to meet their basic menstrual health needs.

SafePads is a powerful example of how practical, community-led solutions can create lasting change.

💜 Join us in celebrating the inspiring work of COFCAWE and the impact of initiatives like SafePads. Together, we can help ensure that no girl is held back by her period.

❌ A period should never interrupt your education.

Yet, in some countries, nearly 1 in 4 girls miss school because of their period. Whether because of a lack of menstrual products or the stigma surrounding menstruation, period poverty continues to prevent girls around the world from learning and participating fully in school.

At SHE, we’re proud to partner with local organisations who break down these barriers by supporting girls with education, improved access to products, and environments where they can learn with dignity and confidence.

Together, we can help ensure every girl has the chance to learn, grow and achieve her dreams. 💥

🦋 Investing in women creates a butterfly effect.

When women have the opportunity to learn, lead and build sustainable livelihoods, the benefits extend far to their families, communities and future generations.

✨ At SHE, we’re proud to spotlight the work of our local partners who are helping women build businesses, develop leadership skills and create brighter futures for themselves and those around them.

Across sub-Saharan Africa, the gender gap in financial services remains a major barrier to women's entrepreneurship. Without access to loans, many women face unnecessary obstacles to starting and growing businesses.

That's why the work of SHE's local partners is so important. By supporting women with access to the finance they need to succeed, they're helping unlock potential, strengthen communities, and create lasting change.

💜 Join SHE and help create a future where every woman has the opportunity to thrive.

Celebrating Liberian Independence Day 🇱🇷

Today, we honour Liberia’s rich history and the resilience of its people.

As Liberia marks another year of independence, we recognise those working every day to build a brighter, more equitable future.

At SHE, we're proud to partner with local organisations in Liberia that are creating opportunities through education, entrepreneurship and community-led development. 💜

Wishing everyone celebrating a happy and peaceful Independence Day.

Financial independence can change everything. 💸

For many teenage mothers in rural communities, accessing traditional finance can be difficult. This is where Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs) make a difference.

By enabling members to save together and take out affordable loans, VSLAs supported by our local partners provide teenage mothers with the support they need to start and manage businesses, generate income, and build brighter futures for themselves and their families.

Join SHE today and help our local partners reach more teenage mothers aspiring for freedom. 🌟
