You're invited to an Exhibition of Art and Poetry by Vesna Okaikoi
**20th April – 25th May**
The Old Crypt, St John’s Waterloo
This exhibition is a collaboration between The Bridge at Waterloo and Age Exchange, celebrating Vesna's growth as an artist and poet since joining our groups for individuals living with dementia. Initially, she joined our Kaleidoscope Café for young-onset dementia, and has since been an active participant in our visual arts groups, Happy Horners and Tuesday Club, as well as Dance for Health and Joyful Voices—our dementia choir.
These groups significantly impact not only the participants but also their family carers. We strive annually for funding to sustain our Creative Dementia Care programme, and any support through donations to Age Exchange is appreciated.
Vesna hopes that her work encourages viewers to "look beyond the cover," reflecting Age Exchange’s values. During the Pandemic, her art and poetry became vital outlets for expression during isolation. She highlights how the ‘Activity Boxes’ from Age Exchange were instrumental in her creativity, leading to many paintings and poems inspired by nature and her surroundings. Some of her remarkable work from this period is featured in the exhibition.
