Our first commercial order is complete! 🧵✨

What started as a sewing session has already become real paid work. Miranda from Zambini trusted our ladies with their first order — and after seeing the finished pieces, she’s coming back with more.

This is what Every Good Stitch is about: creating opportunities for women to use their skills, earn an income and build something of their own.

And we’re looking for more work. 🪡

If you’re a business, designer or individual with sewing, alterations, finishing, labelling or other textile tasks that our ladies could help with, please get in touch. No job is too small to start a conversation.

One order may look small.

But for us, it’s a beginning. 🤍

One session. One opportunity. And look what was released. 🧵✨

Our Every Good Stitch ladies have completed their first commercial order — and we already have a happy customer who is talking about trusting the team with more complex work next.

But for me, the biggest win wasn’t simply finishing the order.

It was seeing what happens when existing skill meets leadership, coordination and opportunity.

After just one guided session, the ladies organised, worked together and delivered. And now, each woman will be paid according to the work she contributed.

This is what Every Good Stitch is about: not doing for people what they can do for themselves, but helping create the structure and opportunity for their skills to generate income.

Lusaka, you answered. ❤️

A few days ago, we put out a simple call for help — and our community showed up.

Today, because of your generosity, we were able to take fruit, drinks and toys to children receiving care in the Sickle Cell Ward at UTH.

Some gave K40. Some gave more. Some gave toys. Some shared the message. Every contribution mattered — and together, it became enough. ❤️

This is what Every Good Gift is about: ordinary people giving what they can, and those individual acts of kindness coming together to make a real difference.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed, to Natasha and her auntie for helping us coordinate the day and bring everything together, and to the wonderful team at UTH for welcoming us.

Day One of Every Good Stitch.

We’ve still got a few things to iron out. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a start — and a start is a start.

I stood at the door for a moment and just listened.

The women were talking. About their children. About cerebral palsy and brain injuries. About husbands leaving. About the realities of raising a child with a disability.

These are stories I have heard again and again — and they are part of the reason Every Good Stitch exists.

On our first day, Claire naturally took the lead. Before long, she was getting to know the women, listening to their stories, teaching, encouraging — and praying with them.

Yes, we came together to sew.

But this is about so much more than sewing.

It’s about community. Skills. Dignity. Friendship. And creating opportunities for mothers who have carried an enormous amount on their own.

This was Day One. 🧵🤍

Today I had the pleasure of meeting Natasha, a sickle cell warrior here in Lusaka who dedicates her time to supporting others living with sickle cell and helping facilitate donations for patients at UTH. ❤️

Over coffee, we talked about ways Every Good Gift can get involved, and next week we’ll be joining Natasha for a donation drop at UTH.

We’ve also pledged to fund the Christmas lunch for 35 children and their carers who will be spending Christmas in hospital this year. 🎄❤️

🧵 Every Good Stitch has finally begun.

What started as conversations about how we could create meaningful opportunities for mothers caring for children with disabilities is beginning to take shape.

Through sewing, we want to help women build skills they can keep, work they can do, and income they can earn — in a way that can work around the needs of their families.

We’re starting small, but we’re excited about what this could become. 🤎

🧵 Introducing Every Good Stitch

Today I want to introduce you to Miranda and Zambini Zambini by Jente Fashion the beginning of a new Every Good Gift project very close to my heart.

We’re working with mothers of children with disabilities, helping create practical opportunities for them to learn, sew and earn.

And we’re not starting from scratch. Miranda already has sewing skills, there is work waiting to be done, and we have our first sewing machine — it just needs a little repair! ❤️

Our goal with Every Good Stitch is simple: help mothers build skills and create an income while continuing to care for their children.

Now we need some help to grow it.

Today we visited Apters with donations and met Kenneth, the manager, who shared something that stayed with us.

Some of the children they support are 15 years old, yet because of severe malnutrition and complex disabilities, they can appear to be only one or two.

Kenneth explained that some mothers become overwhelmed and lose hope, especially when they are caring for a child with significant needs and have very little support around them.

This is exactly why Every Good Gift exists.

We want to come alongside mothers, restore hope, provide practical support, and remind families that every child has value.
