Today is Youth Mental Health Day, and we're reflecting on the role stable housing plays in providing the safety, stability and mental space young people need to begin building their futures.

At Esther Young People, we see how trusted relationships, personalised support and encouragement can strengthen wellbeing, helping young people build confidence, resilience and hope for the future 💛

🐾 Residents and staff have been enjoying visits from some very special guests 🦎

From snakes and lizards, to guinea pigs and rabbits, animal-assisted experiences are a valued part of life within our care communities.

Providing opportunities for residents to interact with and care for animals can support emotional wellbeing, encourage social engagement, stimulate memories and conversations, and create meaningful moments of connection 🥰

The positive impact of these visits is evident in the smiles and enjoyment they bring among residents and staff alike.

Everyone’s back to school now, but here at Keychange, we believe there's always something new to learn. As we continue to support more people to transform their lives, we're committed to helping our teams grow and develop too ✨

Recently, we welcomed a work experience student to our Central Office team, where she was able to explore what a role in Marketing and HR can look like within the social care sector.

Meanwhile, over at Romans Care Home - Keychange Charity, Manager Sarah has successfully completed a Level 7 qualification in Strategic Business Management, further strengthening her knowledge and leadership skills. She’s also taking on an apprentice from the local college, and a volunteer who will get involved in gardening and painting – with the hope to eventually get a job in care 🍂

With the autumn term now underway, it's a timely reminder that learning happens at every stage of life and career. From work experience placements and volunteering opportunities to apprenticeships and professional development, we're proud to support people as they build new skills, knowledge and confidence.

As part of our Community Connectors project, we're excited to be hosting a special event on 1 October to celebrate International Day of Older People.

This year's theme, organised by the Centre for Ageing Better, is "What's on your doorstep?", and is all about discovering the local groups, services, activities and support available locally.

Join us from 10am at the Southwick Community Centre to:

✨ Enjoy refreshments

Following our recent Praise Prayer and Togetherness service, where we reflected on the theme of God's amazing grace, we're delighted to share this beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace performed by one of our talented residents at Romans Care Home - Keychange Charity .
