Black History Month starts today 🖤💚💛❤️

This year’s theme is Honouring Our Communities, so we’re starting close to home with three people who shaped West London.

✊🏾 Claudia Jones launched the 1959 Caribbean Carnival after the 1958 riots, planting the seeds of Notting Hill Carnival.

☕ Frank Crichlow turned The Mangrove on All Saints Road into a hub for community and civil rights.

🎺 Fela Kuti, the Afrobeat pioneer, had his first London home on Stanlake Road, right here in W12.
