Look at our beautiful collective piece of art work 🤩
Plus Sarah and Misa our wonderful volunteers!

These huge pieces of paper have been at Misa’s art table over the past couple of months, bringing parents and small children together for doodles, scribbles, painting and colour galore.

Join us over the next 3 Wednesdays from 12.15-2.15pm (3rd/10th/17th July) to help us complete it before the summer holidays. There are play mats & toys for the little ones too.

This post is looooooooooong overdue (how are your babies 13 months old already?!) but this is a massive BiG UP to Shevonne, for overcoming so many obstacles (maybe we can ask her to share that story another time) and finding the right support and digging deep to give these babies the start she truly desired for them 💜💕

We’ve been lucky to spend time with Shevonne and her brood at various parts of her parenting journey - and some of the most precious of these were her weekly trips coming to see Lisa and honing her breastfeeding skills at our feeding support group.

Shevonne left us a lovely testimonies yesterday ;

“Lisa was a great help in confirming what I knew wasn’t feeling right!! She sat and listened contently, she calmed my nerves when it came to tandem feeding in public and graciously reminded me I’m only human! Her advice was invaluable and without the village doing what it does my breastfeeding journey could have been very different.

I thoroughly enjoyed having the great support provided by the village. From working through my miscarriage in the beautifully safe space of maternal journal to stretching every week in yoga and ending the day with family drumming Wednesdays quickly became my best day of the week!”

Welcoming Rosie, Ida & Luna the whippet to the volunteer squad at The Village!

This wonderful trio will be leading the walks at Mountsfield Park, every Thursday at 10.30am, meeting place is the cafe in the park.

These walks are free of charge and open to all parents & carers.

A lovely way to get outside, enjoy nature and meet some other local families.

You can let us know if you are joining by booking online via our website.

Rosie says;

Hello! I’m Rosie. I’m a Mum of 2 girls, the most recent addition - Ida - born in November last year so I’m on maternity leave currently. I live on the Corbett estate in an almost-finished (read: never finished…) reno project with my husband Andy, our 2 year old daughter Wren, Ida and our whippet Luna - who will be joining our walks and showing off her mad-speedy running skills.

I’m excited to be a walk leader for Thursday’s walk and talks as it’s always lovely meeting new parents in the area. Both me and my husband are from South Wales and all our family are miles away, so it’s support networks like The Village that have helped us survive parenthood so far! I’m a firm believer that even on the worst days, especially in early motherhood, getting up and out for some fresh air is the best tonic there is and you never feel worse after a walk in nature.

Really looking forward to meeting you all soon!
