OHA-NA-EZE NDIGBO WOMEN'S WING UK GIRL CHILD UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP PROJECT
We give immense thanks to God Almighty for granting us the enablement to successfully execute this project, which is one of many impactful initiatives undertaken by our organization. We also extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to this project through generous donations, tireless personal efforts, or both. Our Scholarship Project Team would like to express heartfelt appreciation to each of you for your invaluable support.
This project was born out of profound compassion for underprivileged Igbo girl children who face unimaginable exploitation and hardship in their pursuit of education. We've heard countless disheartening stories about these girls being forced to exchange their bodies for financial support to complete their education. These heartbreaking stories spurred us into action, leading to the establishment of a think tank team to champion this project.
Our mission is to empower young Igbo women to break the cycle of poverty and become leaders in their communities. We believe that education is the key to unlocking their potential and creating a brighter future for themselves and their families.
We carefully selected two female students from each of the five Igbo-speaking states in Nigeria. Our rigorous selection criteria prioritized academically inclined females from low-income families struggling to afford school fees. The students must have gained admission to study specific courses, including Health Care, Pharmacology, IT, Law, Agriculture, Engineering, and Accountancy, at a federal university in Nigeria.
Our scholarship project launched in early 2025, and we've completed school fees payments for nine out of the ten proposed girls, with one awaiting documentation completion. OHA-NA-EZE NDIGBO WOMEN'S WING UK has committed to supporting these students beyond tuition fees, covering their accommodation expenses throughout their undergraduate programs.
We're dedicated to providing holistic support, ensuring these students progress, grow, and become reputable members of their communities. Our goal is to empower them to support their families, give back to society, and become role models for future generations.
