SET is an arts and community initiative focused on the provision of a programme of arts and educational events alongside affordable artist workspace at each of our centres. Our programme, SETprojects, combines performances, live music, exhibitions, talks, workshops and screenings and we seek to provide a platform for new, collaborative and experimental projects. SET Dalston Lane houses our nightly

events programme and hosts an eclectic mix of music and performance: from experimental electronic music and contemporary improv to live bands, soul, disco and techno. SET Alscot Road hosts our exhibition programme and is focused on longer term projects and residencies. For more information about what's to come go here: www.setspace.uk

⭐Large studios for sharers & collectives at SET Vauxhall are now available with immediate move-in⭐

We’re excited to share that we’ve got a small number of larger sharer studios still available, ideal for established collectives or shared groups looking for a base within one of London’s largest artist-led cultural centres.

These studios are some of the most affordable in central London, priced at £1.60 per sqft inclusive of rates and utilities, with studio sizes ranging from 527-1,190 sqft, and prices between at just £840-£1900 PCM total depending on size.

***Some important things to know***

🧶Studios are offered on 3-month rolling contracts. If a contract ends, artists will be offered priority first refusal for any available studios across our centres at the time, to help keep our community together.

🧶Due to neighbouring uses in the building, studios on floor 6 are in designated quiet zones. Therefore, regular use of power tools aren’t possible but sewing machines, painting, textiles, editing, writing, design and desk-based practices are all well suited.

🧶Studios are initially open-plan with internal walls. Full partitions and shared facilities will be added floor by floor. Wi-Fi is currently being installed, with secure fob access being introduced in coming weeks. Full fit out is expected by Spring/Summer 2026.

📅 Viewings:
Thurs 22 Jan, 2-4pm
Thurs 30 Jan, 2-4pm

Move-in and fob collection available from the following Monday after each viewing.

Studios are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Learn more and book your viewing via the link in our bio. FAQs are also available on the Outsavvy page or on our website.

Sister Midnight, The Community Shares Company and Co‑operatives UK have teamed up to deliver this FREE workshop called ‘Is starting a co-op right for you?‘, happening this Wednesday 28 February, 6‑9pm at SET Social.

All kinds of businesses operate as co‑ops – pubs, energy suppliers, taxi firms, bookstores, community gardens, wine sellers, farms, sports clubs and much more.

They are run by their members, who can be customers, employees, residents or suppliers – and who have a say in how the co-op is run, making it a fairer, more collaborative and democratic way of doing business.

Co-ops are also resilient as a business model. They are more than twice as likely to survive the early years of trading when compared to other start-up businesses.

Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of co‑ops as successful, values‑based businesses as well as their purpose and benefits. Find out if your business or community enterprise idea suits the co‑op model.

Book you free ticket to attend via the link on our website 🌱

Volunteers needed at our Woolwich Community Garden day this Thurs!

Come and help us finish building our greenhouse and help prepare the garden for spring. The garden space is part of our community cafe and food bank which provides tasty vegetarian meals to our studio holders and the Woolwich community every Thursday, 1-4pm. This summer we want to grow our own vegetables for the cafe and we need your help!

There are also ping pong tables and a piano to practise on if you need a break from the gardening.

Feel free to drop in any time between 10-5pm, no experience or equipment needed just show up🌞🌞🌞

SET are delighted to announce ‘𝙄 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙢’, a solo exhibition from artist Ashleigh Fisk, with new writing by Gwen Dupré.

Opening on the leap year, a day often regarded as a fracture in standard time, the exhibition takes the historic practice of letter locking as its starting point - a method of intricately cutting and folding a written letter in order to seal it, thereby ensuring the secrecy of its contents and verifying the author’s identity.

Working in dialogue with writer and researcher Gwen Dupré, Fisk utilises craft and storytelling traditions to conjure objects infused with q***red and collective histories: ceramics, iron-gall ink, and materials foraged near Fisk’s home in Sussex are enclosed and entrusted with messages of secret desire. SET Lewisham’s gallery will be recomposed as a domestic space, reflective of womens’ ubiquitous experiences of mental and physical confinement as well as comfort and solace. Furnishings, objects and stained glass create a playful, anachronistic room in which many lives, both real and imagined, have been lived.

Over the course of the show, the exhibition will host a series of public workshops and gatherings ranging from visual scribing and letter locking to q***r reading groups. Dates and booking information to be announced.

Exhibition opens Thursday 29 February 6pm - 9pm

Exhibition continues Thursday - Sunday, 1.30pm - 6pm until 24 March

Supported using public funding from Arts Council England.
