A few months ago, we embarked on an incredible journey with our Code Queen Cohort 15.
Over the past months, these talented young women have been building their software development skills from the ground up. They began with version control using Git, progressed to front-end development with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, explored UI/UX design using Figma, and advanced into back-end development, working with APIs, MongoDB, Node.js, and more.
To culminate their learning journey, the cohort participated in a Hackathon where they were challenged to design and build a community-based sisterhood platform. The participants organized themselves into teams, taking on roles as project managers, front-end developers, and back-end developers. Together, they collaborated, developed innovative solutions, and confidently presented their final pitches to a panel of judges.
This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our Code Queens, as well as the collective effort of everyone who supported them along the way.
A heartfelt thank you to our judges for your valuable insights and encouragement, and to our facilitators and mentors for your unwavering commitment to nurturing the next generation of women in technology.
We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to our partners, the National ICT Hub Uganda and dfcu Foundation, for believing in the vision of Code Queen and investing in the growth of young women through digital skills and software development. Your support continues to create opportunities, transform lives, and strengthen Uganda's technology ecosystem.
To our Code Queens, we are incredibly proud of you. Your resilience, teamwork, leadership, and determination have been inspiring to witness. You have proven that with the right support and opportunity, women can build, innovate, and lead in technology.
Congratulations, Cohort 15! This is only the beginning. We look forward to seeing the solutions, businesses, and impact you will create in the years ahead. 👑💜
