We know there are many of you practising and working hard with your TDT UK/ Empathy Animal certified school dogs and are very deserving of The National School Dog Alliance - NSDA UK School Dog of the Year Award 2026. The deadline is looming for applications so please let your school know to apply. School winners receive a trip to the Houses of Parliament for a special celebration tea hosted by ITV newsreader Lucrezia Millarini along with her dog Milo

"💖 Inspiring Acts of Kindness - wonderful story to follow! 💖 Okehampton School in Devon has opened its doors to Promise School students after their own school was destoyed in a devastating fire. Okehampton Scool held an Empathy Day, Sweep our Empathy Animal and her guardian Diane led special assemblies, emphasizing the power of empathy and kindness. Okehampton students created heartfelt cards, songs, a sunshine box and bunting to warmly welcome their new classmates. The school's mental health ambassadors, wearing their distinctive blue tabards, were introduced ready to support everyone on the playground. We're so proud of Sweep and Diane's role in the school Empathy System, highlighting these remarkable acts of kindness. We do hope Promise School will be rebuilt even stronger, and that students will cherish their time and enjoy spending time with Sweep and Diane at their new temporary base at the fabulous Okehampton Primary School. 🌈 🐾💜 "

Send to mat is an important safety consideration for both your dog and clients when training canine assisted therapy interventions. The reassurance that your dog will remain on his mat in any situation especially in an emergency keeps everyone involved feeling safe and secure.
