Last week we had an amazing archery session at Boreland Village Hall

We started off with some free shooting and then moved on to some games and competitions, including our balloon pop game🎈 and our character target shooting 🧟‍♂️.

Join us for our exciting Archery sessions, open to participants aged 8 and above! Each session lasts for an hour and a half, where you'll learn the fundamentals of shooting an arrow with expert guidance. After the instructional segment, enjoy some free shooting time and participate in fun games to enhance your skills. Come and experience the thrill of archery with us!

Safety on the range
Instructors will give you a safety briefing before you start.
Before attending, please have a wee read of the CHIPS rule.
-Clothing- Please do not wear loose clothing.
-Hair- Hair is to be tied back.
-Injuries- Any injuries we should know about?
-Piercings- Please do not have any loose piercings (anything that might catch!)
-Shoes- Please wear closed shoes (no crocks or flip flops)

This will be an outdoor event!

🔵⚪ Lockerbie Gala Fun Day ⚪🔵

Lockerbie Gala season kicks off today with the Lockerbie Gala Fun Day! 🎉

The RH Youth Organisation have been working alongside the Lockerbie Gala & Riding of the Marches to organise a free family fun day for the community to enjoy! ☀️

The event will take place on the land behind Lockerbie Ice Rink 12-4pm. Below is a map of the activities available to take part in on the day. 🗺️

Free Activities:
- Obstacle course 🏃
- Slackline obstacle course 🌲
- Zip Wire
- Blind Trail 😎
- Bouncy castles by Potts amusements 🏰
- Train rides 🚂
- Craft tent 🎨
- Water slide 💧
- Lawn Games 🎯🎳🏸
- Soft axe throwing 🪓
- Bouncy Hoppers 🟠
- Archery (6 free arrows 8+ years only) 🎯

Extra Information:
- If you can, please walk to the event. There will be limited parking available at the Ice-Rink. Please park sensibly and in line with other cars to the left of the cones and rope. 🚗
- Please enter the event via our sign in tent located at the Ice-Rink main door side (see map) where you will receive information about the event. 🎟️
- Toilets will be located in Lockerbie Ice Rink and a disabled toilet with baby changing facilities behind RHYO Activity Centre 🚻
- Please bring change along if you can for the optional extras or we have a card machine 👛
- Families are welcome to bring along picnics and make the day of it, there are tables and benches dotted around the land! 🧺
- Please follow on site signage and do not climb over barriers, fences or barrier tape for your own and other's safety. 🚧
- No one will be admitted before 12pm when the event starts. ⏱️

Water Slide 💧
If you would like to take part on the water slide, we suggest bringing along a spare pair of clothes to get changed into. There will be changing tents available on site. Please do not take part in any other activities whilst wet from the slide for health and safety purposes. Do not enter the ice rink when wet.

We hope to see many of you there to enjoy a great day out to kick start the Gala festivities! Weather is looking great! We look forward to seeing everyone to celebrating the start of gala season 2026! 🎉
